Well
done again boys, 25 years old and MGE lives!
They treated Wolverhampton to yet another nite to remember. Opening
the gig with Love Song and straight into Second Time Around,
followed by I Just Cant Be Happy, wot! a start, only problem
is they're my 3 faves!
It
was really great listening Noise, Noise, Noise and Melody
Lee live again in front of a packed and excitable Wolves Wulfrun
Hall. And they've found the first bass player since Algy Ward
who plays Love Song properly!!
Dave
was bulging out of his trousers as usual, my missus nearly fainted.
A full 90 minutes set contained all the usual faves such as Ignite,
History of the World, New Rose and Neat, Neat, Neat.
The encore included Sensible dressed as Britney 'schoolgirl' Spears
and started with Jet Boy, Jet Girl with what looked like Plastic
Bertrand and Dave on backing vocals and ended off with Smash
It Up to round off another great Damned gig!
Come
back soon lads, 18th time I've seen ya and I still want more,
Andy
the Onion, Cannock, Staffs
I
was blown away by MGE when I first bought it at as a teenager. It's
still in my top 5 desert island discs 25 years later!
Last
Tuesday night in Wolverhampton I had the pleasure of hearing it played
live almost in its entirety. I have seen The Damned on dozens of tours
over the years but I have never heard them play so tight or powerfully
as at this gig.
The
set list was an excellent choice for the time available, although
they could play all night for me. Great to hear Antipope,
Melody Lee, Second Time Around and Noise, Noise, Noise.
I really enjoyed new song 'Love Potion' (I think it was called).
If
you need to re-affirm your belief in rock and roll go and see The
Damned.
Thank
you gents for a truly excellent gig, your music means an awful lot
to a lot of people.
Andy
