- Canes
is a pretty decent bar, I personally recommend the Catagory 5 Hurricanes
if you can afford the $7 apiece (after 5 of them I was asking to wear
Captain's pink tutu!). In San Diego you can drink on the beach (unless
the law has been changed again) so you can always bring your cooler
of cans (no bottles allowed on the beach) to the beach out front of
the venue and drink there.

The
parking lot by the venue is huge, but as it is right on the beach
it is often full during the day. Best parking can usually be found
around 6pm as the sun goes down.
I
always enjoy seeing the Damned at 'Canes, it's a small place with
a small stage, but you really can SEE the band unlike some of the
larger shows they have done (Blood Drive or Inland Invasion, anyone?)
