Acceptance of Minutes:
Deanna Balantac moved and Anita Bautista seconded the motion to accept the minutes of September 2, 2006.
Committee Reports:
- Membership – Violet Dutra sent in her report. No changes since the September report of 161 members.
A Get-well card was sent to Manual Revillar.
Terri reported that to mail the chapter monthly mailer (to those without email) and quarterly newsletter to each member/trustee/chapter officer was estimated to cost $10 per member. Quite a deal when senior membership is $5 (we only keep 2/3), an example why fundraising is important to offset such costs.
- Collections – Virgie Melear reported. A date has not been set to organize the contents in storage.
- Activities – Violet Dutra sent in her report. The October 21st 2006 Annual Recognition Dinner will be held at China Palace. Tickets were mailed to local chapter members to either buy or sell two tickets with a deadline of October 13th. The deadline is also the date the restaurant needs to know the number of attendees. Because we will be charged by the table, a seating plan will be arranged to accommodate both honorees and their families and guests.
- Education/Exhibit Committee – Virgie Melear reported.
- Exhibit
- The “Filipino American Stockton Experience” exhibit is currently on display at the Cesar Chavez library through the end of November. The exhibit consists of ninety-eight photos and documents.

- Librarian Natalie Rencher of the City of Stockton is hosting a series of planning meetings to gain public feedback on library services. The next meeting is November 6th at 10 am to 2 pm. The ad is due by October 15th. Funding will come from the museum account.
