Salutations from Erwin, Tennessee.

I made it here yesterday evening and am staying at Uncle Johnny's Nolichucky Hostel.  Today I am running errands and gorging on food.  I expect to look something like an albino python that swallowed a pig by nightfall.

The hike to Erwin had some beautiful country and fairly decent weather.  There was some rain and cold but not much.  I did lose a few views to clouds but no big deal.  The terrain had a bit of everything: some summits, some valleys, big ups and downs, little ups and downs, a few boulders, evergreens, hardwoods, and grassy meadows.  Good variety.  Over the weekend I got to meet some people so I even had company.

As I mention in my journal, this morning started off busy with a 9:00 interview and photos with the Erwin Record, the local newspaper, followed by an interview with a radio news station.

There is only a 30 minute limit at this library and someone is waiting so I have to go.  Next email from Damascus, Virginia.
