OPENING THEME MUSIC: "Catch You, Catch Me"

*** Girl's Bedroom ***

A girl is asleep. One of her toys, a stuffed panda, twitches. Another stuffed toy starts to bounce around. All the toys start to float around.

TITLE SCREEN

*** Street ***

Sakura passes one of her classmates on the street.

SAKURA: Ohayo!

GIRL: Ohayo!

She passes Penguin park and some more girls.

SAKURA: Ohayo!

GIRLS: Ohayo!

*** Twin Bells Shop ***

A woman signs a delivery man's clipboard.

DELIVERY MAN: Thanks.

WOMAN: Thanks for the work.

The delivery man gets into his truck. Sakura sees the shop as she passes by on the street.

WOMAN: Well, let's do it.

SAKURA: A new shop is opening.

The woman starts to carry a box into the store, but she trips. Sakura skates over to her and helps her pick up the spilled stuffed animals.

WOMAN: Arigatou.

SAKURA: You have a lot of kawaii stuffed animals. Is this shop opening today?

WOMAN: Yeah. I'm Matsumoto Maki, the owner of this shop. Nice to meet you.

SAKURA: I'm Kinomoto Sakura.

MAKI: So it's "Sakura-chan"? Stop by on your way home. The preparations for the shop's opening should be done by then.

SAKURA: Hai!

Maki takes a box off a pile, and the whole thing collapses. Sakura sweatdrops.

*** Courtyard ***

Sakura is washing her hands as the bells ring.

CHIHARU: Sakura-chan!

SAKURA: Hoe?

CHIHARU: Did you know that a new shop is opening today?

SAKURA: The Twin Bells, right?

CHIHARU: Shall we stop by on the way home?

SAKURA: Chiharu-chan, you love stuffed animals a lot, don't you?

CHIHARU: Yep! I invited Rika-chan and Naoko-chan, too. Why don't you come with us, Sakura-chan?

SAKURA: I already promised Tomoyo-chan that I'd go with her. Let's all go together!

CHIHARU: Okay!

Sakura is walking past the choir room when she hears someone singing.

SAKURA: Tomoyo-chan's voice!

She looks in the window as Tomoyo sings.

SAKURA, thinking: Tomoyo-chan is in the chorus club. She's so good at singing that she's won a lot of contests! What a beautiful voice.

Tomoyo's song ends, and she bows to her teacher. She notices Sakura at the window and grins.

*** Street ***

SAKURA: Tomoyo-chan, you're looking for a pouch, right?

TOMOYO: I've been having a hard time finding a suitable pouch for my camcorder's batteries.

SAKURA: I guess I'll look for a notebook.

GIRL WITH GLASSES: We're all excited about the new shop, aren't we?

CHIHARU: Really!

*** Twin Bells Shop ***

They arrive at the store and look in the window. All the boxes are inside, but nothing has been unpacked yet.

CHIHARU: It looks like the shop isn't open yet.

SAKURA: That can't be right.

The sign on the door says that the store is open.

TOMOYO: Nothing is in order.

They see Maki trip and drop the box she'd been carrying.

MAKI, to herself: I did it again.

Sakura opens the door.

MAKI: Welcome! Ah, you're the one from this morning!

SAKURA: Konnichiwa. I brought my friends.

MAKI: Sorry about the mess.

SAKURA: May we help?

MAKI: Eh? For customers to do such a thing....

SAKURA: But I just can't wait to see the kawaii merchandise! Right?

ALL: Yeah!

CHIHARU: I wanna see, I wanna see!

MAKI: Arigatou.

They unpack the boxes and stock the shelves. A very bouncy star toy trips the short-haired girl (Who am I kidding? She's Rika.). Tomoyo grins when she sees a box with her mother's company logo printed on it. Sakura struggles with packing tape. Maki brings out a tray of tea and snacks.

MAKI: Arigatou, you all. I just moved to town, so I don't know anyone here. You were very helpful. Please help yourselves.

ALL: Itadakimasu!

Maki looks at her store.

MAKI: Customers will never find what they want this way. By tomorrow I should have it so that you'll have plenty of time to look around. Please stop by!

SAKURA: Hai! Let's come back tomorrow!

CHIHARU: This is a really wonderful shop!

GIRL WITH GLASSES: Chiharu-chan, you love stuffed animals, so you must be really happy.

CHIHARU: Yeah, I'm really happy!

MAKI: You like stuffed animals?

CHIHARU: Hai! I love them. Why don't you guys come over to my house tomorrow? I got more stuffed animals again!

A box falls off a pile of boxes. A stuffed panda, identical to the one in the little girl's room, bounces out and lands at Chiharu's feet.

CHIHARU: Kawaii!

SAKURA: For a second I thought it was a soccer ball.

*** Chiharu's Bedroom ***

The stuffed panda is sitting on Chiharu's bed.

TOMOYO: You have so many different kinds of stuffed animals!

SAKURA: Y.... Yeah.

TOMOYO: It looks like a zoo.

CHIHARU: Is that so? I've got even bigger ones in the living room. I'll show them to you.

They go into the kitchen, but hear a clattering sound coming from Chiharu's bedroom.

SAKURA: What was that sound?

CHIHARU: I'll go check.

She goes into her bedroom and looks afraid.

SAKURA: What's wrong, Chiharu-chan? Wah!

CHIHARU: The panda nuigurumi is gone!

SAKURA: A thief?

Chiharu cries on Sakura's shoulder. The other girls go to the open window.

GIRL WITH GLASSES: I wonder if this is where the thief got out.

TOMOYO: We got here right after we heard the sound. It's strange, isn't it?

*** Courtyard ***

Girls cheer as Touya scores a goal.

YUKITO: Nice shot!

Sakura and Tomoyo are in gym class.

SAKURA: Poor Chiharu-chan. I hope that the thief is caught soon.

TOMOYO: I heard that he didn't leave behind any evidence, not even fingerprints.

A girl jumps over the vaulting boxes.

TOMOYO: Actually, I heard something that's bothering me.

SAKURA: Bothering you?

TOMOYO: I went home and told my mother about Chiharu-chan's house being robbed, and....

Another girl jumps the boxes.

SAKURA: "Buying things at that shop causes disasters"? Could it be something like getting robbed?

TOMOYO: Yeah.

SAKURA: Is that Maki-san's shop?!

TOMOYO: I'm not sure. It's just a rumor going around in the toy industry.

TERADA: Kinomoto!

TOMOYO: So don't worry about it.

TERADA: Kinomoto!

TOMOYO: Sakura-chan!

SAKURA: Wah! Oh, no!

She runs and vaults the boxes.

*** Twin Bells Shop ***

Sakura and Tomoyo enter.

MAKI: Welcome!

SAKURA and TOMOYO: Konnichiwa! Ah!

They see Chiharu's panda sitting on a shelf.

MAKI: What's wrong?

SAKURA: Maki-san, is that Chiharu-chan's...?

Maki looks at it and frowns.

MAKI: It happened again....

SAKURA: "Again"?

MAKI: The same thing happened in the town in which I used to live. So many times.... Again and again.... Rumor had it that buying things at my shop would cause disasters. The thief has never been caught. They suspected me of doing it. I guess I should just give up.

SAKURA: No way!

TOMOYO: That'd be a waste! It's such a wonderful shop.

MAKI: I can't possibly do it by myself. I was engaged. He was a designer. He was killed in an accident. He liked stuffed animals, and he said that he wanted to sell stuffed animals of his own design someday.

SAKURA: Maki-san....

MAKI: If I quit, he'd be sad. [crying] But.... No more.

EYECATCH - Sakura

*** Sakura's Bedroom ***

KERO: A Clow card that collects stuffed animals? There couldn't possibly be such a wacky card. It probably has nothing to do with the cards.

SAKURA: Will you make sure? You can sense Clow cards, right?

KERO: Well, it depends on the situation....

SAKURA: If a card is to blame, it's my job to do something about it! Kero-chan, please!

KERO: No choice, then. Let's go!

*** Twin Bells Shop ***

Sakura and Kero watch Tomoyo talk to Maki.

TOMOYO: Maki-san, the tea tasted so nice last time. I'd really like you to teach me how to make tea like that!

MAKI: Okay.

She and Tomoyo go into the back room.

KERO: It went well.

SAKURA: Let's look for the card, Kero-chan. That round panda was suspicious.

The panda starts to bounce off the shelf.

KERO: So we just need to find the panda.

The panda rolls away.

SAKURA: Huh? It was here this afternoon.

Kero is looking at some stuffed animals.

KERO: My, what a lulu....

SAKURA: What are you doing?

Maki pours some tea for Tomoyo.

MAKI: The trick is to let the hot water cool a little after you boil it.

TOMOYO: So that's the trick.

MAKI: Well, I've got to get back to the shop.

TOMOYO: Wah! Maki-san, have you ever heard of the country of Sri Lanka? It was once called Ceylon, and one of the things produced there was called Ceylon tea.

MAKI: Ehhhh? So "Ceylon" is a country's name? I had no idea.

TOMOYO: I've heard that tea made with milk is soothing to the stomach.

Back in the shop, Sakura bumps into a chair and whimpers in pain.

KERO: Better be quiet or she'll notice. Oh, I sense a Clow card!

SAKURA: Where?

KERO: Under this table.

Sakura looks under the table, and sees the panda rolling away. A pink blob escapes from the panda just before Sakura tackles it.

KERO: No, it got away!

SAKURA: "Got away"?

KERO: I think it went into another stuffed animal.

SAKURA: Ehhhh?

Tomoyo continues distracting Maki.

TOMOYO: Did you know that video editing is not about cutting and assembling clips, but dubbing the clips you think are good? But dubbing degrades the picture quality.... So using a good camera and good tapes and a good video deck....

She continues chattering as she thinks.

TOMOYO, thinking: Sakura-chan, please hurry up or I'll run out of things to say!

Sakura holds up each stuffed animal.

KERO: Not. Not. That's not it, either. Or that one. Not in that one, either.

TOMOYO: Digital picture is the most beautiful of all! But it's nice that we can dub pictures so cleanly. There are big problems with copyrights, though. Oh, yeah! Come to think of it, recent cameras are very convenient in that their batteries last longer! Until recently, every time I went out filming I'd have to bring a whole pile of batteries. They're so heavy....

Sakura is rummaging through a box.

KERO: I was sure I sensed it, but....

SAKURA: Maybe it's not in here. Huh?

She pulls out a pink, bunnylike creature from the box.

KERO: That's it!

SAKURA: Hoe?

KERO: That's the Jump card!

Jump glares at Sakura, and the stuffed animals in the shop fly around and accumulate near the ceiling.

TOMOYO: When there's backlighting inside the lens....

They hear a crash.

MAKI: Somebody's in the shop?

She goes to the door.

TOMOYO: Ah, Maki-san!

Maki sees the stuffed animals flying around and shrieks. Sakura lets go of Jump and it goes through the window.

SAKURA: Wait!

The stuffed animals follow it and Maki faints.

TOMOYO: Maki-san!

SAKURA: Tomoyo-chan, please take care of Maki-san!

KERO: I'm going with you!

They run off.

TOMOYO: What a shame.... I can't get any video this time.

*** Penguin Park ***

Jump and the stuffed animals go through the park. Sakura catches up to Jump and tries to tackle it, but misses and falls down.

SAKURA: Where's Jump? Where?

KERO: Up there!

The mass of stuffed animals in the sky starts to dissipate. A teddy bear hits Sakura in the head.

SAKURA: It didn't hurt at all.

Kero catches sight of Jump.

KERO: It's trying to get away!

Sakura runs after it.

SAKURA: Wait just a minute!!!!

She grabs onto Jump, and it jumps high in the air, taking her with it. It jumps out of her hands, and she falls.

SAKURA: Hoeee! Key which contains the forces of darkness, reveal thy true form before me! I, Sakura, command thee under contract! Release! Fly!

She sees Jump falling down to the ground.

SAKURA: Over there!

She lands on the ground near Jump.

SAKURA: Return to thy true form-

Jump leaps away.

SAKURA: Wait!

It moves around and around the penguin slide, then jumps straight up.

SAKURA: Wood, grow dense and come to my aid! Wood!

Vines grow up all around Jump.

SAKURA: I got it!

Kero comes out from underneath a stuffed animal.

KERO: Oh, great. That was nice.

The stuffed animals around him fly over to the penguin slide.

KERO: What's that?

Tomoyo is in the bushes near Sakura.

TOMOYO: Have you captured the card yet?

SAKURA: Tomoyo-chan, I'm just about to.

TOMOYO: Then I made it in time!

SAKURA: How's Maki-san?

TOMOYO: She's all right.

Jump escapes from the vines. The stuffed animals recollect around it.

TOMOYO: That's...!

KERO: What's going on?!

SAKURA: I have no idea!

Jump has now become enormous. It opens its mouth and emits a humming sound.

KERO: Is that supposed to be a roar?

Jump holds up its foot as if to step on them. They run.

SAKURA: Let's split up!

KERO: Okay!

Tomoyo runs to a safe place and films. Sakura continues running from Jump.

SAKURA: There's too much difference in the length of our strides!

Jump corners her at the penguin slide and emits its humming roar again. It raises its foot.

TOMOYO: Sakura-chan!

KERO: Sakura!

Jump falls over and becomes individual stuffed animals again.

SAKURA: Hoe?

She rus up and finds the dazed Jump lying among the toys.

KERO: All right! Let's seal it while we have the chance!

SAKURA: Okay! Return to thy true form, Clow card!

KERO: Good job, Sakura.

SAKURA: That was almost too easy.

KERO: That one is beligerent, but a little slow-witted.

SAKURA: Is that so?

TOMOYO: It'll be harder from now on.

SAKURA: "From now on"?

TOMOYO: Now we have to get the stuffed animals back to the shop.

Sakura and Kero groan.

*** Twin Bells Shop ***

The shop is full of customers. Chiharu is buying a new stuffed animal.

MAKI: As a friend for the panda?

CHIHARU: Hai. So he won't feel lonely. But what a mysterious panda! I was so surprised to find it when I got home.

MAKI: I was so surprised that I fainted.

TOMOYO: Maki-san seems more cheerful now, doesn't she? And the business is doing well.

SAKURA: And Tomoyo-chan learned how to make good tea, too!

She looks at Kero, whose head is sticking out of her backpack.

SAKURA: Kero-chan, you said there was no weird card that collects stuffed animals, right?

KERO: Well, Jump itself looks like a stuffed animal. Maybe it just wanted some friends.

Sakura takes a step and knocks over a display rack.

MAKI: Sakura-chan, are you all right?

SAKURA: Gomen nasai!

She bends down to pick up the mess.

KERO: I guess Jump isn't the only one who causes trouble for Maki-san.

CLOSING THEME MUSIC: "Groovy"
