Sneak Preview ~ edited by Tiffany Dunk

New Weekly - 23rd December '02

After playing at the 'M-One' festival in October, Sneak was recruited as support act for Midnight Oil's farewell tour.
NW chatted to Jon, Andy and Pete.

You've just released your debut album "Still Life Moving". How long have you guys been together?
Andy: The band has been together since mid -1999. Jon and I were in the original line up but Pete's new - we've been through three line-up changes since we started.
How is it being the new guy?
Pete: Great, actually. Everybody's been really cool. I just hope it's not one of those bands that goes through guitarists!
Andy: Like Red Hot Chili Peppers!
Pete: Another one otu the door.....
How was 'M-One'?
Andy: It was the first road trip for us. It was a great get-to-know-each-other in that sharing, caring....
Jon: Annoying.....
Andy: Irritating kind of way.
What was it like supporting Midnight Oil?
Andy: They're national treasures. After a month of being on stage with them, you get a bit blase, but then you'll invite friends to the show who are blown away.
Do people sing along to your songs now?
Pete: At a recent gig there was a group of girls who were trying to sing along to a bunch of songs they'd never heard before.
Andy: New songs we hadn't even released yet!
Jon: They were singing words that didn't fit.
Did you always want to be in a band?
Pete: Ever since I first started playing a tennis racquet in front of the bathroom mirror.
Andy: I used to jump around the loungeroom with a hairbrush.
Jon: You just wanted to be like the people on TV.
You've got a game called Sneak Invaders on your website (www.sneak.com.au) - what's the deal with that?
Andy: It's very cool.
Jon: I got on there for the first time the other day and shot Ricki, our drummer, I felt really good after that.
Who has the highest score?
Jon: I don't think we've ever really compared.
Pete: I've shot you many times.

**Note Well**
The interviewer/journalist did get the names and band members mixed up. No I didn't make a typo!
