Duckett & Lelie traded.

RB TJ Duckett was traded to the Redskins on Tuesday.  The Skins appear to be a bit concerned on Clinton Portis’ shoulder injury.  If Portis can not play the first few weeks, look for Ladell Betts to start in his place.  I believe Duckett was brought in for those short yardage situations that usually involve a lot of pounding between the tackles.  Portis probably won’t be able to take that pounding until he has completely recovered.  Portis’ value has dropped a bit, but appears to still be a 1st round candidate.  Duckett is only worthy of consideration in TD only leagues.

Disgruntled WR Ashley Lelie was traded to the Falcons.  Lelie will be replacing the injured Finneran’s spot in the lineup as the 3rd WR.  Even though Lelie was granted his wish to be traded, he is still not worth a roster spot in fantasy leagues.  He is the 4th option in this below average passing offense behind TE Crumpler and WR’s White and Jenkins.  There is the chance that he could pass Jenkins or White on the depth chart, but that will take time.  At that point, Lelie should be a free agent pick up.  Wasting a roster spot on him on draft day would be senseless.
