Not bad right well it was worse than it looked. So I started off thinking that i was going to restore the truck to close to original. Well after taking the brakes apart and engine (not the origanl one I found out a 170ci instead of 225 /6) Anways the brakes wopuld have cost $200 per corner because its a Fargo which has 11" drums verse the Dodges 10". To make a long story short I couldn't go the resto route so i started to think about modified Hehehe. I found a '75 chry Imperial that ran but the subframe was rotten and was smacked in the drivers rear quarter for $200. After 2 months of mesuring and planing My Farther and I started to make the ultamate Street sleeper. A '69 Fargo Short Box with a 440 Big Block!!! Hears how we did it. |

I started by tearing the trucks front end apart removing fenders, the solid front axle, the cab and then the old crossmembers (more photos will be added to show this) |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Imperials front end was a good choise for this swap because the main crossmember hold all the main parts like motor mounts, the lower control arms of the torsion bar suspention and the power steering box. The rear trans mount is also part of the suspention holding the back of the torsion bars. Since the 440 came out of this x member it does not intefear space wise with the steering box and other parts. figuring out wear they all go is easy once we place the main x member in place. Here is the Imperial its body was in rough shape but good mechanicly. So I borwed a few parts off of it. Below are some pics of the fram work. I made them bigger for your veiwing enjoyment. |

Doesn't that look like it belongs well thats because the main frame rails are still original just the x members have been replaced (by chrysler parts thats why it looks nice) |
