What is Libertarianism?

Libertarianism is based on the premise that no one should be allowed to initiate force on someone else. The only force that should be used is to protect yourself or your property. Government should not be used to initiate force upon others. It should only be used to protect the rights of the individual. "We hold that all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose." The great political issue of our times is not liberalism versus conservatism or capitalism versus socialism. It is personal responsibility and freedom versus governmental paternalism and domination. Violence and harm to others must be punished Personal responsibility You should be free to live your life however you want, as long as you do not infringe on the rights of others.
