Application Process
Obtain an application using one of the methods below. Complete the application thoroughly, giving serious thought and consideration to your responses to the questions. Please make a copy of it for yourself and mail the original to the address specified on the application. Also make 3 copies of the Reference Form and mail them to 3 persons close enough to you to complete the evaluation. Then they will need to mail the completed forms to the same address.
Volunteers make a 27-month commitment to the Farm of the Child. Volunteers arrive at the Farm in October, after completing two months of Spanish language training. This term of service will end in December two years and three months later.
Upon arrival at the Farm, the volunteer team will evaluate current Farm needs and divide responsibilities according to the different gifts of each volunteer. Depending on the number of volunteers, current Farm needs and job preferences, some jobs will be modified and volunteers will share roles or assume more than one responsibility. Job assignments are made after arrival to the Farm.
Application Deadlines
All application and recommendation forms need to be postmarked by December 15 for volunteers starting the following October. All decisions are made by March 1 by the volunteer selection committee at the Farm.
