I shall now reveal to you the arch foe of the Lord Faroohk.  The arch foe is a filthy being, with a worthless life.  The arch foe is of limited intelligence and wisdom, with little use to the world, yet he still continues to be a thorn in the side of Lord Faroohk.

I loath the arch foe.  I am as sickened by the arch foe as I am by the snot that this color green resembles.  For he who offends the Lord Faroohk also offends the Prophet of Faroohk.

And the arch foe possesses a name.  His true name can only be spoken by one as powerful as Faroohk, though he is known by another name.  That name is Reyd Solnen Ystal.

In the past, when Faroohk was but a youngling, in the infantile stages of his divinity, he sought life energy.  The only source was to work in the forges of eastern borders of the land of Machias.  There, he encountered the wicked Ystal for the first time.  Ystal saw that, while he was more powerful than Faroohk, his time was limited.  Faroohk had much higher potential for greatness; Ystal could sense within him the power.  The wicked Reyd Ystal then sought to control Faroohk.

Faroohk was strong, and resisted the Ystal.  Faroohk vowed never to return to the forges of Machias, yet, the following year, Faroohk once again sought life energy, and the only available source was the forge.  Once again, Faroohk met with Ystal.  And on the first day, Ystal seemed to have matured, grown wiser, and chose not to taunt Faroohk.  Perhaps it was that he saw Faroohk had grown in the power, matured beyong the infantile stages.  The two were civil to each other....for that one day.

The following day in the forges, Ystal was once again overcome with jealousy at how quickly Faroohk had grown in his power.  And Ystal sought to taunt Faroohk.  He could not openly challenge the youngling; the other Dieties would see it as bullying, and frown upon it.  So he provoked the Faroohk.

And Faroohk did lose his control of his strength and lash out Ystal, with just enough to quell Ystal's incessant taunting.  But Ystal was still much stronger than he in the power, and Faroohk's attack was shut down by the awesome strength of Ystal.  Not wishing to confront such a deadly foe at still such early stages in his power, Faroohk ceased fighting and fled the scene.

It was then that Faroohk realized his own deep hatred for the wicked Ystal.  And Faroohk soonafter discovered what would aid him in defeating the Evil One:  the Black Rod of Power.  With it, Faroohk's powers would be multiplied many times, and he would be able to destroy even Ystal with the Black Rod in his grasp.  But he dared not challenge Ystal.  For to challenge one with a Black Rod was wrong, and Faroohk could be locked away in the dungeons for doing such a deed.  Instead, Faroohk sought to do exactly as Ystal had; provoke him to the point that Ystal would strike first, and then Faroohk could do as he wished.

And the day came when Ystal finally delivered his challenge.  And Faroohk grasped the Black Rod of Power firmly, and prepared to strike at the foul Ystal.  Yet something inside said to him that this was not the time.  For the two to engage in combat in such a place as they were, it would not be right.  Faroohk regrettably chose to back away from Ystal once again.

To this day, Faroohk carries his hatred of Ystal, and still waits for the time when the evil lord will challenge him again.  For Faroohk is much stronger in the power now, and will indeed destroy the mighty Ystal should ever dare issue another challenge.
