My very welcome Visitor,

I wanted to dedicated to you a short ancient poem. It is translated from the Ancient greek. The author is a lyric poet, called "Alcmane" from Sparta. He describes the Nature during a night in the mountains near to his famous city! To me it is really a beautiful composition, evocative and inspiring! You can feel Mother Nature breathing!

IN ITALIAN
Dormono le cime dei monti
e le vallate intorno
i declivi ed i burroni;
dormono i rettili, quanti nelle specie la nuda terra
alleva,
le fiere di selva, le varie forme d'api,
i mostri nel fondo del cupo mare;
dormono le generazioni
degli uccelli dalle lunghe ali.

IN ENGLISH
Are sleeping the tops of the mountains
and the wide valleys around them,
and the declivities and the ravines;
are sleeping the reptiles, how many in the species the earth breeds,
the wild beasts of the forest, the many kind of bees,
the monsters in the bottom of the dark sea;
are sleeping the generations
of the birds with their long wings.

I always remember these lines of verse when I have the opportunity to go in the mountain near my hometown in my native island, during the ealry Autumn or some cool days at the beginning of Spring, when the Sardinian wind mae the sky clear and cloudness, and the resulting views are glorious and breath-taking.

I am and I'll be always a loyal lover of the Ancient Greece and its culture, which was, is, and will be fundamental and basic for our Civilization, the West Society that still today is the winner worldwide. In the West world the most successful philosophies, and science, as well as the immortal literature and theater. The Greek culture is a "KTEMA EIS AIEIS" according to the historian Thucydides in one of his work! Translation: "something for ever"

When you watch the sky, since the light comes into our eyes after a travel of billion of kilometers and light years, you're actually traveling through time. This is the awareness that today we have from the scientific inquiry of the world and the universe.

Too many people are ignorant or forget that all of us are sons of the stars, made by the same elements of the outer deep space!

The two things amazed me more

during my life on planet Earth were:

the moral within me,

the starry night sky  above me.
