FRIENDS WITHOUT FACES
(and some that do)

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt
In PMs we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships - but - why we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.
Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.
The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter, and to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.




SOMEBODY LOVES YOU
Somebody loves you,that's a fact,
I flatly guarantee,
I know somebody loves you cause
That somebody is me.

I love you for your thoughtfulness,
The little things you do,
No one thing in particular,
But just for being you.

We all have days when we are down,
Days when our heart declares,
That we are all alone in life,
And no one really cares.

On days like these please read this poem,
So you can understand,
That if you ever need a friend,
I'm holding out my hand.

When all is said and done,
Somebody loves you very much,
I know,cause I'm the one...



Every night i lie in bed
This little prayer inside my head
God bless my mom and daddy
and bless my little boy
and take care of my daughter
She brings me so much joy.
And god there's just one more thing
I wish that you would do
If you don't mind me asking
Could you bless my puter too???
Now,I know that it's not normal
To bless a small machine
But lidten just a second
and i'll try to explain...
You see, that little metal box
holds more then odds and ends
inside those amsll conponents
rest a hundred loving friends
Some it's true I've never seen
and most I've never met
We've never even shaken hands or
ever truly hugged,and yet...
I know for sure they love me
By the kindness that they give
and this little scrap of metal
is how i get to where they live
by faith is how i know them
Much the same as i know you
I share in what life brings them
So if it's o.k with you....
just take an extra minute
from your duties up above...
to bless this little hunk of steel
that's filled with so much love..

I havent ever saw you

In a friendship
We're free to expose,
Parts of ourselves
Nobody else knows.
But the thing that sustains it
And sets it apart,
Is not something spoken
It's a bond of the heart.
True friends are rare
In a lifetime two or three,
I'm so glad it happened

To Touch a Star

I search beyond the starry night,
Into a void, sprinkled with light,
And reflect upon the celestial face —
How like it is to my life's pace.

Limited by boundaries that I alone see,
And just above them, what lies for me,
Is a new realm of living, an untraveled land,
Which from a distance, long have I scanned.

I stretch out an arm into the opaque
Considering the while if it's a mistake.
On my hand, I feel the darkness linger,
When I perceive there's a star at the tip of my finger.

Sheilding my eyes from the glow at my touch,
The darkness and boundaries seem not so much,
And I race past them, stumbling none;
To find that my star is a beam from the sun.

If I Only Could

If I could reach out and touch you and ease your aching soul
If I could bend forth and kiss you and make your heart seem whole
If I could look into your eyes and make your sad self see
If I could only make you believe that you mean the world to me

If I could make you laugh happily and cause your frown to smile
If I could hold you close a bit and hug you for a while
If I could take away your pain and make you quiver in delight
If I could only make your world seem a bit more bright

If I could keep you safe from harm and make your sorrows sway
If I could make clouds disappear and make dark nights turn to day
If I could always be there for you when you seem to need a friend

I waited weeks and months for the day to come,
to meet my chat room friends, to finally meet some.
Even though we all had a blast, the weekend went by too fast
Because in the blink of an eye, it had all quickly went by........

I arrived on a Friday morning already pissed
from a flight running an hour late.
Then I met the first of my new friends then my day became great.
It was really kind of funny how I kept looking
at RHG to be sure it was her.
Then when I saw her smile, I knew who she was for sure.

Then I got to meet Godiva, Galaxy Girl, North Star, Soft & RMK.
And how could I forget McGyver & Munchie, JJ & KK?
All these names for so long without faces,
all my new friends coming together from different places.

I will admit, it was kind of uncomfortable at first, being face to face.
But after a while, it all went away and then off to the slots, to find a place.
For once, I wasn't in the mood to play blackjack at a table.
I guess I was a chicken to go $5.00 a hand, I didn't feel able.

I can honestly say that the weekends theme was "LET'S PARTY!!"
And with that, we all did our share of "party hearty."
I'm still wondering who took the lead on that one.
We all did, nobody stood alone on that one!!

Saying good-bye on Sunday wasn't an easy thing for me to do,
and I'm sure that other people felt the same way too.
The "good-bye" felt more like it meant "See ya again real soon,"
And I know in my heart, we should do this again real soon.
