April 29: Updates will be posted in this area. Jamie and Tiffany are at HYC's season opening today, and were at sponsor Houston Sailboat Center's demo of the Hobie Tiger and Fox, Inter 17R and 20, and Corsair F-24 at the Texas City Dike yesterday.

May 4: Just 2 days till the big day. Most of the pieces are in place; the boats, sailors, and rv are in Miami now, to be joined by the shore crew by Saturday afternoon. Excitement is building; it's hard to believe that after the months of planning, begging, pleading, threatening, screaming, crying, and yelling, it's finally really going to happen. Check back here often for the latest from wherever it's happening!

May 6, 8:00 am. We are at the hotel; the factory-original boat turned out not to be class-legal! Everybody is finally here. There were five in one room last night: John, Jamie and Tiffany, John Oliveira (third sailor/handyman) and me, and Bill Coleman was down in the RV. The race pushes off at 3:00 pm local time (2:00 Central) and we will put up an update as soon as possible thereafter.
