Final Chapter

A WINTER'S RIDE

The Final Chapter started life last May when myself, Simon Nicholls, a
middle-aged born again biker with a Royal Star, met up with a mate who'd
got a HD Fat Boy, and we agreed to start riding together. A couple of
months later with my brother (Sportster) and another mate, Terry, (BMW)
we rode across from Norfolk on the East Coast of England, across to the
Welsh Coast and back......and so was born the Final Chapter.

...a diverse group

Cruisers in England, unlike the European Mainland and the USA are out numbered something like 25 to 1 by Sports Bikes, so we were amazed how quickly our numbers had grown to something now in excess of 15 in seven months, all but two of which are Cruisers. It's an eclectic mix including several HD's (which are the bench mark for Cruisers in this Country),
Honda Ace, Viragos, BMW cruisers, and more latterly I replaced my Royal Star with a Wild Star as the Road Star is known throughout the rest of the World outside the USA.

The WildStar...

In front of some 17th Century Canons
(only a SportsBike rider would wear Leathers like that!!!)

Several of the gang are off to Barcelona, Spain in June for the HD European Convention, with lots of general rides throughout the UK and Europe planned for the Spring, Summer and Fall (wives permitting). Given the relatively mild climate of the East Coast of England, we've continued our convention of Sunday morning breakast rides though our Tuesday dinner rides are suspended until the evenings are not so dark.

...carbo-loading...

A splendid example of a Roadie
(note new Mustang plain Fender bib)

So with the temperature hovering around 45F degrees this morning we all met up on the outskirts of the city we live in, Norwich, at a truck stop and off we went on the 50 mile drive to Southwold, a port on the coast of Suffolk, famous for one of the oldest and best breweries in England.

Our Breakfast destination...

...we're waiting...

It's an odd group of individuals drawn together by the camaraderie of Motorcycles, a classless group made up of Lawyers, Pub Owners, CEO's of Companies, Boat Builders, Plumbers, a Ladies Hairdresser, Electricians, even our equivalent of a District Attorney. I hope that the following photo's will give readers of the brilliant Fat Bikes page an insight as to how we cruise on a Sunday in the Winter here......also please note my Wildstar benefits from the Baron's Clean Air Removal Kit and Fat Bikes
brilliant (and inexpensive) Fuel Pump Relocation scheme.....well worth doing.

...the Crown...
...a beautiful place...

The Sleepy (and very expensive) seaside town of Southwold

What a bunch...
...guess the cost...
...look familiar?...

A QUIZ QUESTION - the photo right shows a row of beach huts, basically wooden sheds in a line on the sea front at Southwold. No services or amenities, basically a wood hut about 12 feet by 8 feet. Email me with your estimate as to how much ONE was sold for last summer (and it fetched the going rate) at:

Thanks for sharing these pictures and the ride story with us Simon.  As the warm days are upon us I suspect that you will be our source for stories about "Rides from across the pond"...
Say hello to the rest of the 'Final Chapter' bretheren and...

Thanks again Brother!

Home we go....
