Announcements (January 19, 2003)
1. The two-bit collection is for debt reduction. Last weekend $1,031 were donated during the seven weekend Masses. At the entrances of the church you will find a six month financial report for July 1 thru December 31, 2002. The report contains good news and bad news - but more important, outlines the steps we will be taking during the next months regarding our parish finances. Your continued support is vital.
2. 3. Last week we received six new pledges for Sacrificial Giving bringing our total to 520. The total pledged for 2003 is $366.091. Please check the bulletin board to make sure your name is on the list. We realize that
many of our parishioners have not made written pledges, but are loyal
supporters. Again, thanks to all who contribute to our parish needs.
4. January 27 to February 2 is Catholic Schools Week. Among other activities there will be a Mass in honor of St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, January 28, at 6:30 p.m. On February 2 there will be an open house at Holy Family School.
5. Holy Family sweatshirts and T-shirts are for sale. Please see the bulletin for phone number of Betty Weller to place your order.
6. The Knights of Columbus are selling tickets for the 15th Annual Crab Feed and Lovers Dance on January 25. Please see the bulletin for more information. Also for our young people, please check out the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest which will take place on February 1.
7. This week's bulletin contains a free issue of the Catholic Northwest Progress. Please consider subscribing to our archdiocesan newspaper.
8. For long range planning, please notice that Holy Family Parish will be hosting two Summer Bible Camps - as well as two youth retreats on Shaw Island in the San Juans. Mark your calendars now.
9. For the next three weekend I will be visiting the Mary Bloom Center in Peru. We have a visiting priest, Fr. Juan Francisco Gonzalez from Aguacalientes, Mexico, who will be helping in the parish. Fr. Ramon Velasco, our parroquial vicar, will be in charge of the parish during my vacation time, assisted by Deacons Ted & Joe, Parish Administrator Tom Weber and other staff members.
10. Scrip will be available after the morning Masses. If you use Scrip for your shopping needs, it costs nothing extra and supports our school and parish.
