New Fanarts

I like the hair
A revision of the previous fanart. I just wished that the hair could be shinier. I made this Mimi when I was looking through CLEO, and I wanted to do a wild, party-animal Mimi. I also wanted to create a party atmosphere but since this was the first time dealing with Photoshop; I couldn't do it. So I just opted for a plain background, instead.
Sakura Yuki...
I was going through my old comics one sleepless night when I came across a Kindaichi cover with Hajime being surrounded by sakura trees and snowflakes. I thought it was very interesting; winter and spring being merged into one picture. In certain parts of Japan; around early April, this kinda thing happens. So I decided to give it a try (I copied the whole background, to tell you the truth..) This is also the first time I did a cel-like fanart.
A bit lopsided...^_^;;
This fanart looks like one of my Paint Shop Pro arts; nee? I think young Mimi looks nice, but I'm not too sure about adult Mimi...the yellow color tends to look like the same shade for some reason. I got the inspiration to do this when I visited Thalia's site. She said something about how Mimi sings and Yamato cooks in the 1st season; and Mimi cooks and Yamato sings in the 2nd season. I liked the idea so much that I engraved that evidence into a drawing.
Forest Faerie
I did this after going through Akira Hayase's site, Sohmu-Do. I was star-struck at the way she draws and CG her arts, and was suddenly inspired to do something similar. Of course, it didn't turn out like how I've expected it...-_-;; I was gonna give her blue hair but for some reason, she ended up with lime (ick) green hair. Thank god her wings came out okay.
Sharing a wraparound ^_^
Hehe...another Mimato fanart. This was supposed to be the new year's special fanarts; but I just couldn't bring myself to walk all the way to the cyber cafe to scan it up... until now. It took me a long time to get it done; considering that the color combination was hard to achieve and a lot of my "experiments" crashed and burned. I then got so fed up that I just dumped whatever background I could make. But overall; it's not a bad fanart after all...I kinda like the theme.
Gift for Cho Chang
I tried out the polygon lasso for the hair instead of my usual smudging, and it turned out like crap. Maybe it'll only look nice if using a tablet...but for now a mouse just have to do. For the clouds I think I used one of the natural brushes and a lot of grey and light blue low opacity brushes. Yamato looks pretty weird in here...
If you're not Cho Chang, please don't take this picture.
Rinoa Heartily frrom FFVIII
I got the inspiration to do this fanart after listening to 'Eyes on Me' after almost two years of abandoning. I pictured Rinoa under sunlight and in some sort of princess outfit; but of course my arts never come out right. I was about to color Rinoa's eyes when I realized I don't have the slightest idea what eye color she had! At least I made the correct lighting at the right angle for once.
A chocolate kiss
The original art was much more bigger than this, but I cropped out their bodies because it didn't look nice. Somehow this fanart reminds me of a certain Levi's ad I once saw recently, but it's purely coincidential. I also tried out the texture filter and liked this effect immediately. Of course, the previous more brightly colored version is more appropriate for this type of celebration, but that was saved over and I couldn't get it back. -_-;;font>
Digimon girls dressed in black
I got the idea from Comet's alternative outfit from Bust a Groove 2. This one's not really nice, since it was scanned up at a low resolution of 100%, and all the girls look extremely thin. I like the black clothes effect, though. I was wanted a clean-cut look, and brushes tend to elaborate, so it was omitted.
Mimi standing on a breezy field
I tried to do Painter-style on Photoshop 7 and failed. The hair turned out pretty okay, but the rest sucked big time. I was browsing through the selection of brushes when I found the natural brushes. This fanart too was scanned in at low resolution, so I thought making a watercolor fanart might soften the crackly outline (I think Contrasted too much..) but it didn't work. The grass was done by a brush.
Original character; Blonde
She was made especially for my blog, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to fit her in here.
Originally her hair was outlined in black, but I erased it when I found out she looked better without the outline. I used a watercolor and wet brush at 50% opacity for the background. Besides the background, everything else was done cel-like.
Sora with a starry night backdrop
There was a Hikari and Mimi version, but sadly to say, they weren't as pretty as this one. Originally, the picture was blank, but I added the CG background with Photoshop. I used natural brushes to color, but it isn't that noticeable.
This is probably my best Sora fanart, and I was miffed to admit that Sora looks better in red than Mimi.
