The Vorlon empires representative to Babylon 5, Kosh exsisted in an encounter suit designed to conceal his true appearence. He emerged publicly to rescue John Sheridan. Those who witnessed the incident belive they saw an angelic figure from their own religious beliefs. Kosh died at the hands of Morden and the Shadows, after the Vorlons intervened in the Shadow war. He was then replaced by another Vorlon, Ulkesh. Who was later removed from Babylon 5 after the Vorlons joined the Shadow war.

Captain John Sheridan is the son of a formers Earth Alliance diplomat.He joined General Hagues "Conspiracy of Light" whenit appeared the President Clark was involved with those who murdered President Santiago. Sheridan declared Babylon 5's independance whe president Clark decreed marshal law on Earth. Dellenn gave Sheridan equal command over the rangers on Babylon 5. Sheridan died on Z'ah'dum but was brought back to life by Lorien, the oldest of the first ones. Who had been living deep under the surface of Z'ha'dum since the begining of time.

Commander Susan Ivanova was born in the Russian Consortium and raised as a Jew. She has no living family members. Ivanova has inherited latened telepathic powers from her mother, she has hidden this secret from everyone from John Sheridan. Ivanova, over time, came to like Marcus Cole who has had a romantic interest in her for quite some time. Sadly Ivanova was hurt, badly, during the fight for Earth. The wounds were fatal however Marcus sacreficed himself to save Ivanova using an alien device the transfers life energy from one living creature to another. Susan blames herself for Marcus's death as she feels she did not be as nice to him as she should have.

Security chief Michael Garibaldi was recruited by Jeffery Sinclair to serve on Babylon 5. He over came his drinking problem. After discovering evidence of a conspiracy against President Santiago, Garibaldi was shot in the back by his aide Jack.
