Skate Parks

North East Scotland

No Skate parks yet, after Stoneywood closed down the local skaters have been campaigning for skate parks all over the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire area. One or two skate parks are looking and sounding like they are going to be good but at this stage I'm not that sure. I think that in Alford they have already started building their skate park, Insch who are doing really well in the fund raising section, need to raise £50, 000 to get two 1/4 pipes, a fun box, a rail, a basketball net/football goal thingy and a few benches. Also in Aberdeen they have promised to build the best skate park in Europe ( I hope ).

Where To Skate

Aberdeen Area

To tell the truth I don't think there are any places to Skate where you can't get caught by the police. Only joking in Aberdeen there are a lot of places to skate that I know of but if you know of  any more please send them to me at alexbrownlee@hotmail.com. The  places are Broad Street but on the ledges they have put metal bars so you can't skate but we still do its just more of an obstacle, there is also a load of stairs to gap, the second place is in front of the police building which has small black rails about shin high which are sweet for grinding and they also have 2 sets of stairs the 3rd place is on top of the St. Nicholas centre  where there is a load of stairs, handrails, waxed ledges and benches the only bad thing about that is that there are security cameras and security guards. The RGU rail is about waist height and goes down a few steps. It is one of the sickest places to skate in town. Charlie's rail is also sick. This one is just over waist height and kinks three times. Its hard to do but you can get the hang of it if you have a good session. Cornhill rail is another good rail. It is long but is still sick if you do the whole thing. There is plenty more spots in Aberdeen but i can't be assed explaining them all to you.
