A ccepting Jesus as our saviour is just the first step on the ladder. Jesus is the way, but the way is a long walk. Christians will not Overcame all the sins before they died, therefore God will have to Forgive us for many things, and that forgiveness is only secure if we Are willing to forgive our fellow men.
God command us to forgave our fellow men, our fellow men know of this command will beat upon us an purpose. However, to prevent our fellow men from taking advantage of our forgiven spirit, God also put a requirement on them. They must ask for the forgiveness, just as how we have to verbally ask God for it.
Biblical forgiveness mean . "To renounce anger or resentment against." You must remember that for a real evil person, asking for forgiveness is only a way to come back. You must forgave, but they must earn their way back.
Luke 17:3-5 (KJV) Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. [4] And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. [5] And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
BIBLICAL FORGIVENESS IS SIMPLE NOT TO WANT REVENGE BUT LEAVE ALL VENGEANCE TO GOD.
This forgiveness does not mean to take back an un repented troublemaker into your confidence so he she can continue hurting you. It does not mean to stay with a no good husband, who make it impossible for you to even have a good night sleep. It does not mean to stay with a wife who is of no value to you in any way. It does not compel you to remain in an abusive situations.
Proverbs 24:17-18 (KJV) Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: [18] Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
UNFORGIVING SPIRIT GIVE SATAN THE ADVANTAGE OVER A CHRISTIAN.
2 Cor. 2:10-11 (KJV) To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; [11] Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Col. 3:12-13 (KJV) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Matthew 18:21-AV Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? THIS MAN WAS RE-ARRESTED AFTER RECEIVE FORGIVENESS, BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT FORGIVE.
Matthew 18:33-AV Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? Matthew 18:34-AV And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
IF WE REFUSE TO EXTEND MERCY, MERCY WILL BE DENIED TO US.
