T his article is taking from a web site title: losing their religion. I divide it into sections and point out the mistakes that lead to this person, walking away from the faith.

I walked away... now what? by R.M. OPENING REMARKS BY RM.

What do you do in the days and weeks after walking away from bible addiction and churchly habits? Here are a few tips from Russ, based solely on his own personal experience. You can email him for further ideas and details:

READING BY R.M:

1. Give yourself plenty of time alone to read, reflect, and relax. If you have been in a church environment for a while, you have probably been scheduling your life based on others' needs and expectations. Organized religious activity, even in the smallest groups, requires the reinforcement of frequent meetings and Biblical "home study" to keep it alive.

ANSWER TO THIS SECTION BY REV JAMES:

The Bible told Christians to give attendance to reading, if R.M was reading The Bible he would not walk away from his faith. Here he is telling others to read but he did not do that.

1 Tim. 4:13 (KJV) Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Hosea 4:6 (KJV) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

(R.M) REMARKS. RITUALS AND OBLIGATIONS.

In the process, you may have forgotten the things you genuinely enjoyed doing in your spare time before you became entangled in a web of rituals and obligations.

ANSWER TO THIS SECTION BY REV JAMES:

Col. 2:8 (KJV) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Titus 1:14 (KJV) Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Rituals and obligations are what the Lord save us from and warns us not to get entangle in those things again. You have to read the scriptures are you will fall into the snare of men.

Galatians 5:1 (KJV) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

RM REMARKS, UNPLUG YOUR PHONE, READING:

Unplug your telephone on Sunday morning and doze until noon if you like. Take up a new sport. Read a magazine. Soak in the bathtub. Take a long walk. Your weekends are yours again.

ANSWER TO THIS SECTION BY REV JAMES:

Matthew 6:6 (KJV) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

You and I will have to unplug our phone and spent time in prayer, and reading, not only the Bible but also magazines. Even comic books which many Christians condemn, I have found inspirations and encouragement from. He is talking about reading and unplug phone late. Had he done that he would not cast off his faith.

AVOIDING EXTREME BEHAVIOR. HURT, BETRAYED, AND USED BY OTHER CHRISTIANS: BY R.M

2. Avoid extreme behavior. A lot of us who walked away from bible religion did so partly as a result of being betrayed, hurt, and/or used by other Christians.

When you really "wake up and smell the coffee" there is a sudden tendency to want to go out and get drunk, have promiscuous sex, or otherwise look for trouble. Obviously there is nothing wrong with having fun and enjoying all life's pleasures (if I believed otherwise I may as well still be in church),

but acting out of pent-up anger and frustration will probably result in your causing an accident, getting your ass kicked, catching a sexually transmitted disease, or the like. Keep in mind that after months or years of letting other people do a lot of your thinking for you, you are pretty vulnerable mentally and emotionally. Now that you are a free person again, savor the simple pleasures of life first, and save any hell-raising for later when you are more stable.

ANSWER TO THIS SECTION BY REV JAMES:

The door of salvation ..

2 Tim. 3:12 (KJV) Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2 Tim. 4:16 (KJV) At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

If a child of God is living a good life and has love in his or her heart, you bound to get hit by the children of Satan that he has in the Church. I meth one of my student today, he was an inmate in the prison that I serve as V Chaplain. He was invited to preach over the radio. How much invitation do I get!!! He is a good man, but If was ever get lock up, people would condemn me more, and rub my name in the mud.

Galatians 2:4 (KJV) And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

MAKING DEMAND ON YOUR TIME AND ENERGY, ISOLATED, AND MISUNDERSTOOD BY R.M.

3. Avoid joining any spiritual organization for a while...or for that matter any group that gets personally involved with you and makes demands on your time and energy. For many this may be an unnecessary admonition, but for others there is the temptation to "rebound" into another group out of fear of being isolated, misunderstood, or not belonging to something.

Just like in walking away from romantic relationships, rebounding into another exploitative or dysfunctional situation is a real danger. Just as biblical groups sell "the one true way" to former followers of Eastern and New Age philosophies, cults and rip-off groups look for disgruntled Christians who are ripe for the next big spiritual revelation or feel good group experience.

ANSWER TO THIS SECTION BY REV JAMES:

Luke 6:22 (KJV) Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

You are going to get Isolated, misunderstood. Babies do not survive on the battle field. The wolves in the church will never go easy on the lambs. You will have to grew up fast or died. The only friend you are going to have is Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and the Bible.

REMARKS BY RM. ONCE AGAIN RM CONFIRM WHAT THE BIBLE SAID ABOUT READING:

4. Learn to be a reader, especially of nonfiction. Discover the joy of reading all the things that used to be forbidden to you, or simply reading to learn a new craft or study a subject you have always been curious about. Now that you are not expected to plow through the entire

Old Testament once a year, or some such nonsense, you can use all that time much more fruitfully. Explore the greatest thoughts of people from all walks of life and all ranges of experience. Read biographies and you will surprised how many of the world's greatest minds had brushes with destructive religion in adult life, or were raised in religious families and had to overcome superstition and fear as they formed their identities. You are by no means alone in struggling with questions about the meaning of life and your place in the universe. Which leads me to the last point...

ANSWER TO THIS SECTION BY REV JAMES: BITTER SPIRITED AND LET DOWN:

Things that a child of God will need to know, about sin the Church is not going to tell it to you, you will have to make it your duty to find that out on your own. You will have to do your own study of salvations, and see what God required of you. Pastors are going to tell you not to ever look at a vagina, and Christians are going to be walking with their butt on their shoulders with pride saying they have never take a taste. But they lied. You will need to know what the bible has to say about sin on your own.

Micah 6:8 (KJV) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Isaiah 34:16 (KJV) Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

Daniel 9:2 (KJV) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

REMARKS BY RM. HIS FIFTH MISTAKES, LETTING OTHERS DO HIS THINKING:

5. In your process of figuring out what view of the universe works for you, remember that you are not required to label yourself for the outside world or to belong to any particular philosophy or view. Don't let people (Christians or atheists or anyone in between!) pressure you into putting yourself into a box for them. What you believe or don't believe is your own business, and if it changes and evolves over time or makes sense only to you, that's perfectly fine. People love labels and pat explanations so they won't have to think too hard. But if you have just walked away from bible religion, you are rediscovering the joy of thinking freely.

So don't waste your time or share your personal story with people who are looking for simple sound-bytes and won't enjoy thinking expansively along with you.

ANSWER TO THE FINAL SECTION BY REV JAMES:

The door of salvation ..

Smart Christians do not let others think for them, nor live the life by other people perceptions. That is your doctrines that you make up, you keep it. God will tel a Christian not to do certain thing, then the Christians went all over the place telling others not to do it. Forgeting that God told him, and that command was for him.

Matthew 23:4 (KJV) For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

Philip. 2:12 (KJV) Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

You do not need to believe every thing taught by Christians, you must learn to eat the meat and spit out the bones. Some of the things Church people teach is not for newly converted people. Some thing you have to come of age spiritual before you can swallow it.

2 Tim. 2:18 (KJV) Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

1 Tim. 1:19 (KJV) Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

EZEKIEL WAS TOLD TO EAT MAN'S DUNGS.

Ezekiel 4:12-AV And thou shalt eat it [as] barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. Ezekiel 4:13-AV And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them. Ezekiel 4:14-AV Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

HOSEA WAS TOLD TO TAKE A WIFE WHO WAS A WHORE:

Hosea 1:2-AV The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, [departing] from the LORD.

A CERTAIN PROPHET WAS ASK TO GET SOMEBODY TO HIT HIM:

1Kings 20:35-AV And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him. 1Kings 20:36-AV Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him. 1Kings 20:37-AV Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man smote him, so that in smiting he wounded [him].
