"SHOULD WOMEN PREACH IN THE CHURCH"
“Deborah Was A Judge & A Prophetess”
W omen are capable of doing any thing and every thing that men can do. There are some things that women can do better than men. Women make better spies, better assassin, and sometime better missionary. Women missionaries open up Africa, they were able to go into places where no white men could dare venture.
Why is it that women can bear our children, cook their husband’s food, wash his clothing and cash his check at the bank, but cannot sit on our pulpit. The husband suck the women lips and sometime suck their toes, and even though all that has happen she is bar from our pulpits, and are not suppose to worship with us. Why all the double standard, and what is it that these men are afraid of?
WHAT DOES THIS WOMAN BELIEVE?
Ephes. 5:23 (KJV) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
1 Peter 3:1 (KJV) Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
1 Peter 3:1 (Living) Wives, fit in with your husbands' plans; for then if they refuse to listen when you talk to them about the Lord, they will be won by your respectful, pure behavior. Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words.
DOES SHE BELIEVE THESE SCRIPTURES OR DOES SHE POINT OUT THE OTHERS THAT DEAL WITH THE MEN, TRYING TO COUNTER THESE?
1 Tim. 3:11 (KJV) Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 1 Tim. 3:11 (Living) Their wives must be thoughtful, not heavy drinkers, not gossipers, but faithful in everything they do.
IF THE WOMAN DOES NOT BELIEVE IN THE ABOVE VERSES THE FOLLOWING VERSES APPLIED TO HER.
1 Cor. 14:33 (KJV) For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 1 Cor. 14:34 (KJV) Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1 Cor. 14:35 (KJV) And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Cor. 14:37 (KJV) If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
THE BOARD OF ELDERS.
The problem of women preaching in the Church was not a preaching problem but taking authority over the men.
If the Church has qualified men who want to serve as pastor, or bishop, the positions must be given to them. If no man want the post are no man is available, why can’t a woman who is available and have same gift and calling occupy that post? If the Bible teaches two things differently, it is best to bring all the verses together, examine them, and see the reason.
There are some Churches that do not believe that women should go around the pulpit and preach the gospel, and they base their beliefs on these two texts. 1 Cor 14:34-35. 1 Tim 2:11-14. But a close examinations of the texts along with some other Old Testament verses and other verses in the New Testament shows that we could have gotten the wrong idea, and that these verses are not saying that women should never preach the gospel, but this was only an isolated cases of a Church that gone bad and the Apostle Paul have to take drastic measures to put down the problem, and he did not intend this remedy for all the Churches in that region.
THE BOARD OF ELDERS.
1 Cor. 12:28 (KJV) And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
As long as the Church has a board of elders working in the background as government of the Church, women are men can act as pastor. Because whosoever is in the pulpit still had to answer to board of elders, you have to be in line with scriptures are leave. The word the Apostle use were “Usurp Authority over the men” is talking about women taking complete authority over men.
I must admit that women in authority over men can turn out to be a disaster, especially if she has suffered a letdown, and a broken hearted. All that hurt will came out in her preaching. From the pulpit, she can wreck every marriage, and drive away every husbands. The worst thing about women leaders, they tend to go according to feeling. Just like the apostle says” Adam was not deceived but the woman” At the same time we cannot rule out the fact, there are ministries in the Church for women.
WOMEN IN MINISTRY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.
[Daughters shall prophesy] Women are not excluded from spiritual gifts and powers (Acts 2:16-21; Acts 1:14; Acts 2:1-21; Acts 21:9; 2 Cor. 11-14). See note, § Acts 21:9.
Acts 2:17 (KJV) And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
WOMEN WERE THE FIRST TO TELL THAT THE LORD WAS RAISED.
PROBLEM EXISTED IN THIS PARTICULAR CHURCH.
a[usurp authority] Greek: authenteo (, to have power over. Only here. Women should not dictate to men, but exercise their rights to teach, prophesy (or preach), pray, and do other things under the authority of men (note, §1 Cor. 14:34-35).
1 Cor. 14:34-35 (KJV) Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1 Cor. 14:35 (KJV) And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
TO MAKE A DOCTRINE WE NEED TWO ARE THREE WITNESSES, ONE FROM THE OLD AND AT LEAST ONE FROM THE NEW SAYING THE SAME THING.
1 Cor. 14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [35] And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1 Tim. 2:11-14 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. [12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve. [14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
THIS CHURCH WAS RUN BY WOMEN.
[lady] Greek: kuria , feminine of kurios (, Lord. It may signify some honorable woman to whom John addressed the epistle. She probably had a church in her home. She was a married woman, because her children are also saluted. No husband is mentioned, so perhaps she was a widow who entertained many Ministers and traveling evangelists in her home.
HERE WOMEN WERE TOLD TO TEACH.
WOMEN HELP PAUL IN HIS MINISTRY.
which laboured with me-"inasmuch as they labored with me." At Philippi, women were the first hearers of the Gospel, and Lydia the first convert. It is a coincidence, which marks genuineness, that in this Epistle alone, special instructions are given to women who labored with Paul in the Gospel. In selecting the first teachers, those first converted would naturally be fixed on. Euodia and Syntyche were doubtless two of "the women who resorted to the riverside, where prayer was wont to be made" (Acts 16:13), and being early converted, would naturally take an active part in teaching other women called at a later period;
WOMEN CAN DO EVERY THING IN THE CHURCH JUST LIKE MEN IF THE WOMEN REACH CERTAIN STANDARD AND HAVE CERTAIN QUALITIES.
The things that women must teach the younger women.
“Soberness” Mean to understand the seriousness of life. We do not even need to go any further. To love husband mean do give the husband due benevolence.
CHRISTIANS WOMEN USES SEX TO MANIPULATE THE MARRIAGE.
1Co 7:2 Nevertheless, [to avoid] fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband every woman have her own husband. 1Co 7:3 let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 1Co 7:4 The wife hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 1Co 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except [it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Titus 2:3 That old women are to be self-respecting in behaviour, not saying evil of others, not given to taking much wine, teachers of that which is good, Tit 2:4 Training the younger women to have love for their husbands and children, Tit 2:5 To be wise in mind, clean in heart, kind; working in their houses, living under the authority of their husbands; so that no evil may be said of the word of God.
IT WAS PREDICTED THAT BOTH WOMEN AND MEN WOULD PREACH THE GOSPEL.
Acts 2:16-17 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; [17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Acts 21:8-9 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. [9] And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

[6] And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? Eight reasons for women preachers: Finish Dake Notes.
2. In Acts 2:14-21; Joel 2:28-31 God predicted and promised that He Himself would pour out His Spirit upon women and they would prophesy. To prophesy means to "speak to men to edification, exhortation, and comfort" (1 Cor. 14:3). "He that prophesieth edifieth the church" (1 Cor. 14:4). Prophesying is for the Church and general public (1 Cor. 12:1-31; 1 Cor. 14:1-6,12,24-26,29-33).)
3. In Acts 21:8-9 it is clear that Philip's four daughters were prophetesses, that is, they were evangelists like their father. This is in perfect accord with Joel 2:28-29 which was fulfilled in the early church (Acts 2:16), and with Acts 2:17-18 which will be fulfilled in the last days.)
4. In Romans 16 we have record of a number of women servants of the Lord in various Churches. Phebe (Romans 16:1-2), Priscilla (Romans 16:3-5), Mary, Tryphena, Tryphosa, Persis, and Julia (Romans 16:6-15) are mentioned as laborers in the Lord.)
5. In Phil. 4:2 Euodias and Syntyche are mentioned as being leaders of the Church at Philippi.
6. Corinthian women prophesied and prayed in church (1 Cor. 11:4-5), so the scripture in 1 Cor. 14:34-35 that is used to condemn women preachers does not refer to preaching but to disturbance in Church services—asking or talking out to their husbands in Church, as stated in 1 Cor. 14:35. Even so with 1 Tim. 2:11-15, Paul is not condemning women preachers as long as they keep their place and do not "usurp authority over the man." Both men and women at Corinth were permitted to pray and prophesy, but were regulated by fixed laws in doing so (1 Cor. 14:24-32).
7. In 1 Cor. 12 Paul compares the Church to a human body and mentions nine gifts of the Spirit, including the gift of prophecy, for all the members of the body of Christ, men and women.
8. Women were used of God in Old Testament days as prophetesses (Exodus 15:20; Judges 4:4; 2 Kings 22:14; 2 Chron. 34:22; Neh. 6:14; Isaiah 8:3; Luke 1:39-56; Luke 2:36). The law made provision for women to make sacrifices, attend feasts, and make vows (Deut. 12:11-18; Leviticus 27).
