About the Instructors

Shannah Cummings, Vocal and Beginning Piano

Shannah is co-director of FAA and also a vocal and beginning piano instructor. She is currently employed as choir director at North Pulaski Heights High School. Stage experience includes lead roles in music theater (“The Secret Garden”, “Wizard of Oz”) and opera productions (“Barber of Seville”, “Die Fledermaus”). She was a regional NATS finalist and also traveled for a while with the contemporary Christian group “Unashamed”.

Joan Hanna, Piano

Joan is co-director of FAA, where she teaches piano and beginning voice. She spends most of her performance time on the stage at UCA where she is staff accompanist for the vocal department. Past experience includes stage direction of such musicals as “Sound of Music”, “The Wizard of Oz”, and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. Teaching experience includes 26 years at college level and 4 years in public schools.

Music styles: Classical, Light Jazz and Contemporary

Nathan Matthews, Guitar

Nathan is currently a music major at UCA. He performs classical and electric guitar.

Angela Wisely, Vocal

Angela is a member of the FAA faculty and runs her studio in Greenbrier where she is also the high school choral director. Stage experience includes lead roles in the musicals “Sound of Music”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, “Meet Me in St. Louis” and two years traveling with a contemporary Christian band.

Music styles: Light Classical and Contemporary
