Sudden Strike multiplayer tips

I’ll give u all the tips I know, most of them are already known, but I hope I’ll give u guys some new and good ones:

• Combine your troops: if you use tanks only, you will soon be dead meat. The Anti-tank cannons can see twice as far as your tank, and they will tear it appart. If u go with men only, the enemy howitzers will crush u. with one shot of them, they can kill 5-10 men. It is better to attack with men only than with tanks only, but if you haven’t got enough submachine gunners or At-gunners, u can do nothing against enemy tanks.
• The best way to do this is put your tanks together, then get some full trucks, and unload them in the middle. This way, there will be men before, and after the tanks. It is good to have men before the tanks, because they can see further, and if u don’t do that, the tanks will arrive at the battlefield, before the men. They will be destroyed at the time your men are there. And after because men are more vurnerable. With a good tank shot, they are dead.
• When you are about to attack, send some empty trucks or fast vehicle, to do some reconnaisance, this way, you can see where the enemy’s heaviest defences are, and the most troops. When you see this, take your howitzers, hold SHIFT, and click around for several times.
• It is best to give you howitzer groops a number, this way, you can bomb an area without first scrolling to your howitzers. This is faster. It might come in handy, when u send your empty trucks, and you can only see the troops for a few sec.
• In front of your troops, u drive some empty trucks: when you attack, the enemy will use his howitzers against the trucks, and it will take a while untill they reload. If u want to do a surprise attack, u don’t do this.
• When u attack, do it from the side of the map, this way, you will only have to defend one side of your troops, and it migt be handy, to do an enclosoure move around the enemy.
• Try to search the place where the enemy gets his reinforcements. When you are there, lay mines, and set a row of tanks at 5 cm on your screen from the side. When they appear: BANG. If the enemy don’t get his reinforcements, they will lose.
• When you are batteling, you must try to attack the enemy from the side and back. Because tanks are faster destroyed from the back and sides. When u do a flank attack, u must have a few troops attacking from the front to, so that the tanks keep looking forward.
• Try to get the plateaus as first, because it is always hard to take them. But don’t put to much troops there, because the enemy, and that is also a tip, uses his howitzers against plateaus, even if u don’t know for sure if there are enemy troops.
• Use your howitzers against places where u would set your troops. The enemy will do that to, so set your troops on unexpected places.
• If u do a massive attack, send some trucks with anti-tank cannons behind them. If you win some territory, u can move up you lines. If u don’t send them, and you are killed, your attack will be useless, and u will lose your territory after all.
• Move your supply trucks separated from your troops, because they have the intention to arrive at first.
• When you are with the Russians, and u have katayushas, use them to lay a bomb carpet before your attacking troops.
• Take all houses, and set some on not firing, in a village, it is best to set the first houses of the city on non-fire, because u can see enemy moves, and where they are going to attack u.
• Lay mines. This is a way that is often neglected, and it is hard to fight against them. The enemy won’t take time to sweep them all. His men will walk over, an then his tanks will blow up. Do this on places where u are sure the enemy will pass, and around the balloons.
• Set draggon teeth and crosses. This don’t takes so much time as everybody thinks: take a supply truck, hold SHIFT, and set an area full of them. It will be hard for the enemy to get trough, u can combine them with mines.
• Lay mines on bridges. This is better than destroying them: the enemy let his tanks go over them and bang, the tank, and the bridge are destroyed. But u have to keep in mind that there can be an attack of men too.
• When u are with more players in your team: work together, and plan when u are going to attack. The enemy can’t handle two attacking men at a time. Do it at one side, but make sure that the other side of the map is well defended.
• When u attack, don’t use all your troops. Keep in mind that there can be a counter-attack.
• Make sure u have the three pink balloons, it is a lot easier when u have air-support.
• Try to search the best place to make a bridgehead. For exemple a plateau that is in the direction of the enemy, from there, u can do your attacks, and destroy the passing troops.
• Divide your army in sections. Each section is a group of 1 empty truck that rides in front , 50 men (rifle, SMG, officers,…=>mixed), two or three tanks between the men, one truck with mortars, one full truck with an anti-tank cannon, one supply truck. These groops are hard to destroy for the enemy, and it’s better than attacking with your whole army at a time. Because it is harder to control all of your men at a time. But sometimes, it is best to use more troops, you have to decide that on your own.
• Don’t put all your howitzers at one place. Make three or four howitzer groops, each with a different number. This is best, because it can be that an enemy sees the howitzers, and uses eg. His katayusha there. You’ll lose them all, and without artillery, it’s harder to win.
