1. JANE SAUNDERS: First born of Thomas Saunders and Jane Saunders.
    Born 1795 Co. Kilkenny, Ire., died 3 Nov 1873. Around 1824 in
    Beckwith Twp., she married Samuel Leech/Leach, born 1798, Co.,
    Wicklow, Ire., died 18 Aug 1874. (s/o William Leach and Ann Edwards).
    Both buried Franktown, Ont.
    They had 8 children. James, George, Mary, William, Jane, Samuel
    Ellen and Sarah.

    Jane's 1st husband was George Kidd c1795-1821 with whom she had
    three children; Thomas, William and Eliza. This family is on a page of
    their own.    (Jane Saunders).

    Saunders lived in an Area/District known simply as "Knockalane" Co.
    Kilkenny.

1. JAMES LEACH: Born 1825. He married Jane Anne McCarthy, born
    1833.
    They had 10 children. Samuel, Mary, Thomas, Sarah, Ellen, Eliza,
    Susan, James, William and Robert.

2. GEORGE LEACH: Born 1 Feb 1826, died 11 Aug 1913. On the 2 Mar
    1847, he married Matilda Garland, born 1824, died 20 Jun 1888.
    Both buried Elmview Cemetery, Kars, Ont.
    They had 11 children. John, Samuel, Thomas, William, Sarah, Edward,
    George, James, Nicholas, Maria and Ellen.

    They lived in Montague Twp., Ont., and in 1864 they purchased Lot 8
    Con 3 North Gower Twp., Carleton Co., Ont.

          (1) JOHN LEACH: Born 19 Dec 1847, died Feb 1888. He married
               Maria Barrows, born 1849, died 1910.
               They had 7 children. Alonson, Matilda, William, George, John,
               Mary and David.

               John was a blacksmith in North Gower Twp.

          (2) SAMUEL LEACH: Born 27 Mar 1849, died 15 Jul 1939. He
               married Margaret A. Graham, born 1849, died 19  Dec 1882.
               Margaret buried Elmview Cemetery, Kars, Ont.
               They had 8 children. Lila, George, Margaret, William, Russell,
               Wilson, Eva and Howard.

               Samuel re-married Mary Brownlee Wilson, born 1862, died
               5 Apr 1950.
               Both buried Rideauvale Cemetery, Kars, Ont.

          (3) THOMAS LEACH: Born 2 Dec 1850. In Nov 1873, he married
               Bridget Rielly.

               They moved to the USA. Nothing more known on this family.

          (4) WILLIAM ALBERT LEACH: Born 7 Aug 1852, died 13 Mar
               1940. On the 13 Mar 1878, he married Jane Pollock, born
               1855, died 1 Jul 1932.
               Both buried Franktown, Ont.
               They had 8 children. Matilda, Thomas, George, James, Mary,
               George, Austin and Beulah.

          (5) SARAH JANE LEACH: Born 28 Apr 1854, died 1924. She
               married John Geddes, born 1840, died 1929. (d/o Adam
               Geddes and Sarah Trimble).
               Both buried Anglican Cemetery, North Gower, Ont.
               They had 9 children. George, Adam, Harry, John, Matilda,
               James, Sarah, William and Nicholas.

          (6) EDWARD LEACH: Born 18 Apr 1856, died 14 Jun 1943. He
               married Eliza Maud Shore, born 1861, died 9 May 1892.
               Eliza buried Union Cemetery, North Gower, Ont.
               They had 3 children. Francis, George and Ethel.

               Edward re-married Mary Adeline Brown, born 6 Oct 1880, died
               19 Jul 1933.
               Both buried Holy Trinity Cemetery, North Gower, Ont.

          (7) GEORGE GARLAND LEACH: Born 3 Mar 1858, died Aug 1942.
               He married Frances "Fanny" E. Farmer, born 1869, died 1946.
               Both buried St. Paul's Cemetery, Richmond, Ont.
               They had 5 children. Garnet, George, Robert, Hilda and Ada.

          (8) JAMES LEACH: Born 15 Mar 1860, died 13 May 1943. On the
               23 Dec 1891, he married Mary Alice Seabrook, born 1862,
               died 3 May 1943.
               Both buried Holy Trinity Cemetery, North Gower, Ont.
               They had 1 child. Thomas.

          (9) NICHOLAS H. LEACH: Born 1 Jan 1862, died 9 Feb 1949.
                Never married.
               Buried Elmview Cemetery, Kars, Ont.

        (10) MARIA LEACH: Born 24 Jun 1864, died 24 Mar 1909.
               Buried Elmview Cemetery, Kars, Ont.

        (11) ELLEN MATILDA LEACH: Born 22 Jun 1866, died 26 Apr 1911.
               She married Samuel James Scott, born 29 Jan 1861.
               Ellen buried Elmview Cemetery, Kars, Ont.
               They had 5 children. Cecil, James, Maria, Ellen and Sarah.

               Samuel re-married Rebecca Beckett.

3. MARY ANN LEACH: Born 1827. On the 26 Nov 1850, she married
    Thomas Kidd, born 1826, died 26 Aug 1909. (s/o John Kidd and
    Margaret Garland).
    They had 6 children. John, Susan, Margaret, Sarah, Jane and George.

    They lived in North Gower Twp., but moved to Alice Twp., near
    Pembroke, Ont.

         (1) JOHN KIDD: Born 1852, died 1940.   He married ??.
              They had 5 children. Thomas, Wellington, Daughter, Ethel and
              Martha.

         (2) SUSAN KIDD: Born 1853.

         (3) MARGARET KIDD: Born 1855.

         (4) SARAH KIDD: Married Wellington Edwards.

         (5) JANE KIDD: Married H.H. Edwards.

         (6) GEORGE WESLEY KIDD: Born 24 Nov 1868, died 11 Mar
              1961 Hamilton, Ont. He married Mary Ellen Garnegie who died
              in 1939.
              They had 5 children. Crystal, Dora, Mayme, Leonard and son.

4. WILLIAM LEACH: Born 1829, died 9 Jan 1917. On the 25 Oct 1853,
    he married Anne Hawkins, born 1831, died 27 Dec 1884. (d/o William
    Hawkins and Mary Ann Burgess).
    Both buried Franktown, Ont.
    They had 6 children. Samuel, Mary, William, Jane, Elizabeth & Caroline
    (Twins).

         (1) SAMUEL LEACH: Born 1854. He married Miss Stewart.
              They had at least 1 child. Margaret.

         (2) MARY ANNE LEACH: Born 1861, died 25 Jan 1924. She
              married Stephen Garland, born 1861, died 1945.
              Buried at Munster, Ont.
              They had 2 children. John and Annie.

         (3) WILLIAM "HENRY" LEACH: Born 1863, died 1945. On the
              15 Jan 1890, he married Maria Amelia Craig, born 1863, died
              6 Jan 1900.
              Both buried St. Augustines Cemetery, Prospect, Ont.
              They had 2 children. William and Craig.

              William re-married in 1908 to Sophia Davis, born 1868, died
              1936.
              Both buried St. Augustines Cemetery, Prospect, Ont.

         (4) JANE "Jennie" LEACH: Born 1867, died 19 Jan 1925. On the
              17 Sep 1895, she married William Salter, born 1862, died
              14 Sep 1944.
              Both buried St. Augustines Cemetery, Prospect, Ont.
              They had 3 children. Bertha, Garland and Preston.

         (5) ELIZABETH LEACH: (Twin). Born 8 Jul 1869, died 27 Jul 1869.

         (6) CAROLINE LEACH: (Twin). Born 8 Jul 1869, died 16 Dec 1869.

5. JANE LEACH: Born 1835, died 16 Jul 1859. On the 8 Mar 1855, she
    married Edward Leach, born 1832, died 25 Mar 1883. (s/o Thomas
    Leach and Frances Cooke).
    They had 3 children. Thomas, Eliza and Frances.

    Edward re-married 28 May 1860 to Anne Hawkins, born 1838, died
    28 Ot 1871. They had 6 children.

    Edward re-married 3 Jun 1872 to Phoebe Edwards, born 1857, died
    1919. They had 7 children.

    Edward built a shanty and a camp on Lake Dore, Renfrew Co., Ont.

          (1) THOMAS LEACH: Born 16 Jan 1856, died 15 Jul 1934. He
               married Miss Lyons.

          (2) ELIZA JANE LEACH: Born 29 Jul 1857, died Sep 1929. She
               married Richard Edwards.

          (3) FRANCES ANN LEACH: Born 7 Apr 1859, died 19 Jul 1961.

6. SAMUEL LEACH: Born 12 Jul 1836, died 16 Apr 1896. On the 27 Dec
    1860, he married Sarah Fanning, born 9 Mar 1838, died 23 Jan 1923.
    (d/o James Fanning and Maria Lewis).
    They had 8 children. Samuel, James, Jane, George, Mary, Sarah,
    Robert and William.

    Samuel moved to Lisbon, North Dakota in 1889.

         (1) SAMUEL THOMAS LEACH: Born 9 Oct 1861, died 1945. In
              Jan 1906, he married Sarah Lewis Jordan, born 1873, died
              1947.
              They had 1 child. Mae.

         (2) JAMES LEACH: Born 1 May 1863. In 1896 in Lisbon, N.D., he
              married Annie Roach.
              Both buried Billings, Montana.
              They had 1 child. Ethel.

         (3) JANE ELIZA LEACH: Born 17 Mar 1865, died 1940. On the
              23 Dec 1885, she married John Harvey "Henry" Smith, born
              1864, died 1929.
              Both buried Carleton Place, Ont.
              They had 4 children. William, Ernest, George and John.

         (4) GEORGE SAUNDERS LEACH: Born 17 Mar 1868. He married
              Mary Courtney.
              Buried White Sulphue Springs, Montana.
              They had 1 child. Sarah.

         (5) MARY ELLEN LEACH: Born 1871, died 1946 Lisbon, N.D. In
              1913 in Minneapolis, Minn., she married James Sheppard.
              They had no children.

         (6) SARAH ANN LEACH: Born 13 Mar 1874, died 6 Mar 1972. On
              the 29 Jan 1895 in Lisbon, N.D., she married Eugene Maddocks
              born 16 May 1855, died 24 Mar 1945.
              Both buried Lisbon, North Dakota.

         (7) ROBERT LEWIS LEACH: Born 23 Dec 1876, died 2 Dec 1978.
              He married Maud Hodgins, born 21 Sep 1887, died 20 Jan 1953.
              Both buried Lisbon, North Dakota.
              They had 5 children. Margaret, Alice, Perry, Roy and Dewey.

         (8) WILLIAM HOWARD LEACH: Born 22 Oct 1881, died 1952. He
              married Eve Ingalls in Wisconsin.
              Buried Lisbon, North Dakota.
              They had 2 children. Ruby and William.

7. ELLEN LEACH: Born 1837, died 27 Jan 1915. On the 18 Aug 1864,
    she married Robert Fanning, born 1 Apr 1836, died 18 Mar 1913.
    (s/o James Fanning and Maria Lewis).
    They had 9 children. James, Mary, Jane, Eliza, Ellen, Sarah, Samuel,
    Catherine and Jane.

         (1) JAMES S. FANNING: Born 1 Sep 1865, died 14 Jun 1907. On
              the 12 Jul 1887 he married Anna Mary Rathwell.

         (2) MARY FANNING: Born 18 Oct 1866. On the 18 Feb 1903, she
               married Richard Thomas Bolton.

         (3) JANE SUSAN FANNING: Born 4 Jan 1868, died 16 Feb 1879.

         (4) ELIZA ANN FANNING: Born 19 Sep 1869, died 29 Jun 1890.

         (5) ELLEN MATILDA FANNING: Born 27 Jun 1871. On the 28 Feb
              1903, she married William George Kidd.

              In 1915, they were living in Elm Creek, Manitoba.

         (6) SARAH FANNING: Born 3 Jan 1873.

         (7) SAMUEL GEORGE FANNING: Born 10 Jun 1876, died 1956.
              He married Jane Broome, born 1883, died 1973.
              They had 5 children. George, Dorothy, Frank, Anne, and Lloyd.

         (8) CATHERINE FANNING: Born 5 Mar 1878, died 1966. On the
              8 Jul 1908 she married William Thomas Griffith, born 1881, died
              1965. (s/o William Griffith and Sarah Bolton).

         (9) JANE SUSAN FANNING: Born 15 Jul 1879, died 21 Jun 1882.
   

8. SARAH LEACH: Born 1838, died 15 Aug 1924. She married William
    Fisher, born 1840, died 9 May 1909.
    Buried Munster, Ont.
    They had 5 children. Matilda, Jane, Jessie, Margaret and William.

     Lived in Beckwith Twp., until 1873 when they moved to the Village of
     Prospect, Ont., where they kept a store for a number of years. This
     family lived in Manitoba for a number of years before returning to
     Con 3 Goulbourn Twp., Ont.

          (1) MATILDA "Tilly" FISHER: Married Robert Flood.

          (2) JANE ELIZA FISHER: Born 19 Sep 1869. She married Robert
               Montgomery.
               They had 7 children. Everett, Jean, Roy, Margaret, Susan,
               Sadie and Burnett.

          (3) JESSIE FISHER: Married Albert Woods.

          (4) MARGARET FISHER: Married Richard Bennett.

          (5) WILLIAM ALBERT FISHER: Born 1874, died 6 Dec 1966. He
               married Maria L. Porter.
               Both buried Munster, Ont.
               They had 9 children. Ellen, John, Howard, Marion, William,
               Iva, Harold, Herbert and Ernest.
