This is a crash course on the plot of Dracula: The Series I'm only hitting points that are of import to my story.

Dracula is alive and well, thriving as a business tycoon in Europe - operating a company known as "Lucard Industries." His name now is Alexander Lucard (A. Lucard, which is quite cleverly Dracula spelled backwards). He is still thwarted by the ever present Gustav Van Helsing, the current van Helsing vampire hunter. Gustav is aided by three children - Max (apx 12), his brother Chris (16ish), and Gustav's young and pretty female relative (also 16ish). Lucard is power-hungry and ruthless, stomping all who get in his path. He is looking to rule the world, of course, via the economy. He has developed special concoctions that allow him to walk in the sun without being burned. The traditional items - cross, garlic, wooden stake, holy water - are his bane, tho crosses have little effect unless they have been blessed.

For parts two and three
In the last episode of the syndicated series, Lucard trapped Gustav in an another world - or a vortex. The kids were heading back home to the US with their mother, and I believe Gustav's relative was headed off to college. Not real sure on that part... it's unimportant. What is important is that Gustav bequeathed all of his research to young Max as a last act from the vortex - as Max was the most enterprising of the three when it caming to combating Lucard. I am assuming that Lucard later defeats Gustav in the vortex, and that this (defeat of Gustav) occurred perhaps a year or so after Lucard sent Serina for training. The vortex is not mentioned in my story, since it was never fully explained in the series. About the zombies - the series showed that vampires could make zombies - the stronger the vampires, the more aware and human the zombie was. Again, I'm not real sure about that point and, again, it's not real important to my story. Pretty sure that's all you need to know to understand this story.
