Well, we finally were put to work, lol. But for a good cause. We hosted a Valentine's Dessert Night at the church to raise money for our youth group to go on a retreat up at Christopher Lake. All in all in was a great turn out. Here is how the night went for our perspective.
We arrived at the church at around 5:30 pm to get ready. We got all the tables out and set up the chairs, put out the forks, spoons and napkins. By 6:15 or so we had all of that done and we were pretty much ready for people to arrive. We decided on different jobs for everyone to perform during the evening. Ticket people were Sheena and Brett, greeters were Jess, Nicki, and Chelsea, and coat people were Travis and Mike O. The rest of the people helped out with the serving of the coffee and desserts, etc.
The evening was all planned and even included a band!! We had the priviledge of listening to Eyes of Fire sing. (Click the link to go to their webpage). The girls sang beautifully!!! They were a little nervous because this was the first time they had performed in front of such a large audience. But I think everyone in the room would have agreed that they did a excellent job!! Way to go girls!!!
The dessert night concluded at around 9:30 or so and then it was time to cleanup. This took about 45 minutes, but putting together the kids toys tookup probably half that time. HEY! Were guys, we haven't heard of instructions!! That was fun times. After everything was cleanup we just hung around and chatted before we finally headed home.
