This was an entirely different event from the normal events. Everyone was told to bring a banana to youth but once again Chris would not tell us the reason for them.... well not until we got there of course.
We met at the church at 6 pm on thursday evening (also out of the ordinary) and after everyone had gotten or brought a banana, Chris told us what we were doing. We were playing Banana Mania. We split up into groups of 4 or 5 and Chris gave each group a piece of paper but we weren't allowed to look at it yet. After every team had a paper we got to start. What we had to do was get length measurements of different objects, but we had to get them in terms of banana lengths. For example, we had to measure the distance from the back door of the church to the front door of MAC'S, measure the length of a city block, the height of all our team and many more. The group of Mike O., Travis, Mike B. , and Kyla were the first team to finish the list. That was some great teamwork I would say After banana mania was finished Chris came out with some bubble stuff and some coat hangers. We got to bend the coat hanger into any shape we wanted to and then have fun make bubbles. That was cool. After the bubbles we got a chance to show our artist talents. There were two ways we could do this. We could either draw on the sidewalk, or paint on the big poster. The poster was going to be hung on the youth room wall for everyone to see. At around 9:30 everyone started to head home since it was a school night lol! |
