Since it was the long weekend this event got changed to Monday to allow more people to come. Everyone met at the church at 1 pm and we broke into groups of 5 or 6 and Chris gave us a piece of paper with a bunch of items listed on it. The goal was to try and get everything on the list, or else that is what we thought.
This event had a different twist. This was more of a outreach event. Everything that we collected from the scavenger hunt we were donating to the bridge on 20th street. It was fun walking around talking amongst ourselves and just seeing different people. Surprisingly a lot of people were willing to help out which was fantastic!! It was also interesting to see the stuff that we got. One group got a sawhorse, another group got a plant named BOB lol, and another group got a lot of canadian tire money. We had to be back at the church at 3:15. We then all went for slushies at the MAC's store behind the church. We then loaded everything we had gotten during the scavenger hunt into the vehicles and we drove over to the Bridge. Once we got there we unloaded all the stuff and got a tour of the place and the lady there told us how the Bridge worked, how it got started and information like that. It was very interesting. We then headed back to the church and that concluded this youth event. We ended at around 4 pm. |
