THE NAME GAME

This is a game in which everyone plays. There are numerous different ways you can play it so I will just explain how the game works. Everyone sits in a circle. Somebody is chosen as the person caught in the middle. This person is given something such as a sweater. The person with the sweater then goes to the middle of the circle.

The first way to play this game is you use your names (i.e. John, Nicki, Tom. .etc) To start the game someone will say their own name followed by the name of someone else. For example, if Tom starts he could say, "Tom, John." Now John would have to respond with his name followed by someone else's name. The second name that the person says must be the name of someone in the circle.

What about the guy in the middle? Good question. After the first guy has said their name and somebody elses name the person in the middle has to try and hit the other person (the person who was named by the previous person) before they say their name and another name. For example, Tom says, "Tom, John." Now the person with the sweater has to try and hit John before John says, "John, Kyla."

If the person is hit by the sweater before they say the second name they are caught and they go to the middle of the circle. The game just continues like this.

But this version of the game is way too simple unless you don't know anyone else in the circle, then it is hard. But if you know everyone in the circle then you should just use the first way as a practice game to make sure everyone understands what the rules are. Then it is time to move onto a different version of the game. Another version is instead of using your name everyone chooses an animal. The game is then repeated the same way as before. A very difficult version would be to pick TV show names.
