The music of Lubumbashi Stars is a rougher and more up-tempo blend of soukous. Unlike the numerous bands based either in Kinshasa or in Europe, these young musicians hail from Lubumbashi, in the very South East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, not far from the Zambian border. Therefore, in some of their songs, musical influences from Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania can be heard. Good stuff for dance floor maniacs!
