Mom and Dad's Page


Mom and and dad met in 1965 in Ft. Worth, Tx. Mom was 20, dad was 50! Mom has always had a thing for older, mature men! The story my mom tells is that dad helped mom break free of an abusive marriage to another man. Dad set mom up in an apartment and began "courting" her. He soon swooned mom off her feet, helped her get a divorce and took her to Mexico and married her! Sounds like a whirlwind romance to me! In 1966 I was born, a son in 1968, Doug, another daughter in 1970, Mary and the last son Vernon in 1971. They lived in Ft. Worth until I was 10 or 11 and then we traveled to Arkansas, Athens, Murchison, Atlanta and finally back to Henderson Co. Dad passed away in 1984 in Henderson County due to a malignant brain tumor. He was 68 years old. He is buried at Ash cemetery in Athens, TX.
