Meeting Minutes
All members present except
Puentes. Phil Duncan, former member, and Paul Hughes, Fairfax Coalition
for Smarter Growth were also present at meeting.
I. Review and approve January
minutes
II. Election of chairman
and vice-chairman for 2000
- Jack Byrne elected as chair
- Rob Puentes elected as vice-chair
III. Goals for 2000
- Comprehensive traffic plan moving forward
- Pedestrian plan – work with Arlington County
- Development review input for CACT
- Public Safety – safe walking, riding – possible tie-in with Operation Earthwatch
IV. Updates
- Electric bus is due 2/8/00 – turbine fire delayed delivery – bonus payment if delivered by end of month
- 2020 Plan – no updates
- Development
- Anderson tract – no city commitment
- Adcom site – breaking ground
- Hillwood letter – version drafted by Rob used. It has been signed and will be delivered to Council
V. Other Issues
- Snow removal policy in Falls Church Focus – too late for this year. Should ensure that snow removal policy is in Focus, and possibly FCNP this fall
- Videos on growth will be viewed by committee members at March meeting – provided by Paul Hughes
