The name John Bowen did not appear again in the Lunenburg or Mecklenburg Co records until 1787 when the will of Hicks Bowen was mentioned a John Bowen who possibly was living in Georgia at that time. We do not have enough information to determine if John Bowen of these records might have been a son of William or Robert Bowen,  a brother who had moved into the area, the son of an unknown brother, or even their father who had come to live with his sons in his old age.
