Superman - I had wanted to make a Superman figure since I first started customizing but I knew that I wouldn't be able to do him justice. I'd been at it about a year and a half so I figured it was about time to give him a shot. When I saw Tung Nguyen's modified M2 body (see the links section for his page) I couldn't wait to give it a try and Superman seemed like a likely candidate. I followed most of Tung's directions making some personal changes along the way and really liked how the body looked when it was done. I don't think I'd want to do it for every figure as it was a lot of work but it's almost like having another body type to work with. The costume was all handmade except for the belt which I stole from the Hasbro DC9 Bizzaro oops... Superman figure. The head is from the Superman Blue figure and was shrunk in acetone and then modified to look more like the Man of Steel's normal form. I'm not completely happy with the head as I kind of struggled with it and I think I should have done a little better job. I'll probably try it again at some point. All in all though I'm fairly pleased with him... it's nice to finally have a Famous Covers Superman on the shelf. Special thanks to Elmeaux for the work on the shot you see below and the similar shot on the front page.
