Mayleq graduated top of his class at the academy and was posted on the USS Eclipse. While there he designed a holographic defence grid and installed it. He hopes it will be used on every ship in the fleet. He killed the Klingon who dishonored his family after a recent battle with the Borg and his house is now accepted in Klingon society. Mayleq applied for and got the XO position aboard the USS Malachi. When his captain was convicted of treason and court marshalled Mayleq was transfered to the USS Magnum. He later applied for and received command of the USS Malachi and is the first Klingon captain in Starfleet.
In late 2477 the USSMalachi was pulled into the future, a future where the alpha quadrant was controlled by the Dominion. Mayleq determined that the source of the invasion was the Daly nebula in Breen space and returned to the present. He gathered a fleet of Federation, Klingon, Romulan , Ferengi and Cardassian ships and proceeded to Breen space to prevent the invasion. T'alanni gave birth to a boy on the way to the nebula. They named him K'lor after one of Mayleq's ancestors.
When the fleet arrived atthe nebula a large battle insued. During the course of the battle both T'alanni and K'lor were killed. The Malachi was heavily damaged and Mayleq rammed the Malachi into the Dominion base, destroying the ship, the station and the dominion fleet. Mayleq was listed as Killed In Action and the Fleet returned to federation space.
Before the Malachi was destroyed Mayleq was beamed aboard a Romulan warbird and taken prisoner. Heescaped and was picked up bythe USS Panther and returned to the FDTF.While in prison Mayleq suffered extensive torture and subsequently lost his right leg below the knee and his left eye and the leftside of his face was badly scarred. He underwent a procedure to replace his leg so he could continue his duties but refused an operation to replace his eye and repair the scar because he wanted to keep them as reminders of what the Romulans did to him.
