In the year 2287, two Vulcan scientists nearly perfected the art of genetic engineering. I, Trevok, was the only completely successful product of their experimentation. These scientists were my mother and father. I was born in the small town of Chaet'lanaha on the planet Vulcan in the year of 2287 with unique abilities that my parents refused to explain to me until I was old enough to understand. I had 7/7 vision, strength twice that of a typical Vulcan, and I was hypersensitive in all five of my senses. Enhanced reflexes also enabled me to respond more quickly to everything. I was also engineered to have a massive intellect and IQ. Little did I know that I was also engineered to live up to eight-hundred years; three times a normal Vulcan's life span. What was most amazing, however, was the success my parents had in developing and enhancing my telepathic and psychokinetic/telekinetic abilities. Children without control over their emotions were afraid of my abilities, and of me, and those with emotional control shunned me. Thus I was alone for most of my childhood. My parents had originally named me Vutok, and that had changed only recently. Having a mother and father who were scientists, they frequently went on scientific excursions, and would take me with them on their trips around the quadrant. One day, however my parent's small cargo vessel crashed on a moon in the sol/terran System. My mother died shortly afterward, as she was fatally wounded upon the ship's impact with the planet's surface. Three weeks later, my family, and the remaining crew were, "rescued" by a Borg vessel, whose inhabitants seemed more than happy to assimilated a good bit of the survivors, including my grandmother, uncle, and older sister before we were rescued by a Federation, Miranda class vessel which took my father, aunt, younger brother, and me back to Vulcan where I spent the remaining period of my childhood in my hometown of Chaet'lanaha. At the age of eighteen, I joined Starfleet Academy and graduated three years later with high honors and recommendations from all of my instructors. Surprisingly enough, however, I decided not to pursue my Starfleet career immediately as I felt I was not quite ready for such a large commitment. So I resigned my brand new commission into Starfleet and returned home to Vulcan. Here I spent ten years immersing myself in the higher studies of various sciences and the arts of martial arts and higher logic under the influences of a Vulcan monk named Le'lek. During this time, I also achieved Kolihnar (State of pure logic). When I completed my studies, I decided to return to Starfleet. Because I had such a high education, and graduated ten years earlier from Starfleet academy with high honors, Starfleet Command agreed to let me into Starfleet without attending the Academy again. I was immediately transferred to the U.S.S. Revere NCC-77653 (Excelsior Class) where I served as the Security and Tactical Officer. I spent three years aboard this vessel, in which time I rose through the ranks to Lieutenant. The Revere met its end when it was destroyed in a battle with the Orion Pirates. None of the crew suffered any fatal injuries, and the Captain was eventually found not responsible for the destruction of the ship. After the destruction of the Revere, I transferred to the Federation's Division of Security and Strategics. Here I spent thirty years of my career, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander until Starfleet Command informed me of a new Tactical Division of Starfleet called the Federation Defense Task Force. To join this Division, I had to relinquish my rank and start over in order to take part at the Hyperion Academy Campus to get the latest Federation Tactical training. I applied and was accepted into this Academy. Once I graduated, I was transferred to the U.S.S. Claymore (Sovereign Class) as the Security and Tactical Officer under the command of Vice Admiral Don Anderson. I stayed here until I once again reached the rank of Commander and received command of my own ship, the U.S.S. Nemesis. I remained in command of this ship for a good many years in which time I was promoted to Captain and accepted a job as a training officer at the Hyperion Academy Campus. Eventually, I was promoted again to the rank of Rear Admiral and given command of the eighth squadron. I stayed at the Academy, however and continued my duties there as a training officer for several years, along with my command of the eighth squadron. I was promoted again several years later to Vice Admiral and assumed command of the S.S. Olympus. I still, however continued teaching at the Academy. Then, in 2377, the Federation Defense Task Force underwent a major redesigning, which took away my position at the Academy and I accepted the position of Commanding Officer of the Research and Development and the Embassy Fleet Yards. A few months after this had occurred, the FDTF engaged the Romulans in a massive battle for control of the Genesis Device. Near the end of this battle, I was critically wounded and it was thought that I would die. Doctors were surprised when, thanks in no small part to my superior genetics, I made a full recovery. I was given two weeks of shore leave when I was strong enough to leave Starfleet Medical in which time I returned to Vulcan and participated in the No'trosk, a ritual in which one who was wounded for an honorable cause may be given a new name in honor of their deed. My former mentor years earlier, Le'vek, performed the ceremony, and provided me with the new name of "Trevok." I returned to the FDTF and found that the Research and Development division had so soon been abandoned, and as a result, I was further promoted to Fleet Operations Manager where I stand to this day. |
