Misc. Information: Niels' father was a colonist in the late Back Wars. When his father was killed by Cardassian Commanders, Niels earned money for his mother and 2 sisters with Street-fighting in the Ghetto of Dozaria. Niels was the Grand Champion, but he got arrested because he was rioting against the Cardassian army. He was sentenced to Work in the mines on Cardassia, but when his prisonor transport was attacked by the Federation, he was brought back to Earth. He knew that if he wanted to go back he needed to get somehow into space, so he signed up for Starfleet Academy. As he was studying Operations he meets Jeffrey van Mierlo his college pal, and from that moment his lifetime mate. When he got assigned on the U.S.S Pathfinder with Jeffrey van Mierlo, he wanted to go back to his family. But he knew that it would took a long time.

Niels Was assigned with Jeffrey on the U.S.S. Condor. Jeffrey as Captain, Niels as Commander.

To get back home for a little while Niels stole the captains Yaught when they were patrolling the Cardassian border, and set course for Dozaria his home planet. When he passed the Federation/Cardassian border he was picked up by a Cardassian ship where his sister was stationed (by coincidence). Jeffrey took his Yaught back home, and Niels left with his sister for Dozaria, but the Obsidian order noticed that there was some kind of trade at the border and punished Kira, Niels' sister, by sentecing her to work in the mines for a couple of months. Since the Condor would return in 1 week He needed transportation to the Condor again. Then Niels dicided to visit His old girlfriend, in His village because her husband should take him back, because he was captain. But when they arrived at the border the Captain betrayed him, he seemed to be Obsidian order. Niels stole a Shuttle and tried to cross the border. His ship took heavy damage, but Niels was saved by the Condor who came on time. The Condor was under attack by several Cardassian vessals, and they decided to run.
Niels got a Purple heart for this action, he also aquired critical information from the Cardassians.

Niels told his mother that he had a new home on the Condor, and that she didn't need to worry about him.
Niels Wrote in his last message to his mother:
"I will stay at my new family, but I wil always think of you and never forget what you've done for me."
