Fear and Desire – More Rawk Than A Cliff

Fear and Desire started in paper form at the beginning of 2002 and ran for 5 whole issues before taking up residence on the web.

Based in Sheffield and Manchester and run by sisters Holly and Ruth, we started as a blatant excuse to blag free CDs, gig tickets and marriage proposals from Carl Barat, Johnny Depp and Noel Fielding (we’re still waiting, hmph...).

Inspired by a love of shoes, jaunty dancing, attractive men, a dislike of NME, oh, and er good music, we aim to bring you news, reviews and interviews with the best bands and artists around.

A big thank you to the following people who have put up with us over the last few years:

Steve Coombis, Dave Wibberley, Sarah @ Hall Or Nothing, Mike and Warren @ Infected, Anthea @ Press Council, all the bands we’ve interviewed (especially the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for being so lovely), boys we may have stalked, Office Shoes (hurrah!), everyone we’ve dragged along to gigs and forced to sit through abysmal support bands, Sam, Miss Amy, Susan, Liv, Cariad, Callie, Dan, Lois, Katt, Oxfam’s photocopier, easyworld, Pop Bitch and Mum – for standing through the Libertines on Scarborough beach while the holiday house flooded.
