Dead Letter Dept. - Anthology UK

As the title may suggest, this is a compilation of the Canadian band’s previous releases spanning a 7 year career. Spread over 20 tracks, the press release describes them as having ‘poetic lyrics, unapologetic atheist views and politics that stretch too far to the left to consider them a typical uncaring punk pop band’. All well and good but it’s just a shame that the CD's of such a quality that I can’t make out a word they’re singing. As for the music, punk pop in the vein of Blink 182 and a million other bands that wash over me. Fine if you like that sort of thing but you get the impression that there’s more effort being put into appearing subversive than the actual music.
