Parva

Who are you and how long have you been together?
We are called Parva and we formed in Leeds in summer 2000
Who has been the most fun to tour with so far?
The JOINT winners of the 'most fun on tour' award is The French Kicks and The Catheters. We love those guys, and they're Americans as well.
If you could work with any artist dead or alive, who would it be?
That's a tricky question because it has endless answers. But I like the idea of being in our rehearsal room with the regular parva set-up but then have Jimi Hendrix on tuba (moaning).
What are your views on the evening session being axed?
The bloody evening session. I don't give a shit anymore. I heard it last night. He played Sum 41 ‘Fat Lip’. It came out about 2 years ago, there was no need to play it. He could have used that precious air time to play The Music (I am bitter).
Would you rather be a contestant on Bargain Hunt or Water colour Challenge?
Bargain Hunt.
Pulp did a tour of forests and you played on a beach (we hope you took advantage of the backstage facilities for sand castle making), do you have any suggestions for the next illogical place for a band to play?
Swimming pools, aerobics classes, pantomimes, hospitals, police stations.
Have you had a favourite new band or record this year?
My favourite single has been 80's Matchbox B-line Disaster, 'Celebrate Your Mother'. But they're not my favourite band of the year, nobody is actually. I've bought loads of records this year but I don't have a favourite so lets just go with The French Kicks and The Catheters.
What is the best item you have ever purchased in a pound shop?
Glue.
Did you enjoy playing Leeds festival and did you witness the 'riots' on Sunday night?
We loved playing at the Leeds Festival. We were given some very important advice before we went on and we applied it and we've been applying it ever since. The crowd were ace and we were awesome. I didn't see the riots though, I do not like that kind of thing.
What are your main aims for 2003 and why should we love you and feed you cakes?
Aims: Be recognised as the best new band in Britain. Big tour buses, sold out gigs, showers in dressing rooms, hit records, front covers and Glastonbury. Why you should love us and feed us cakes: We need your love (and cakes) to carry on. At the moment we'll play a gig in front of 15 people and its awful but there's usually someone loving us and feeding us cakes so it makes us play better and feel full. When we are being fed cakes we play much better and the gigs are triumphant so everyone wins and gets their moneys worth.
