Before Sorceress War

Adel was a very powerful and evil sorceress that became the ruler of Esthar. It is unknown how or why she became evil, but part of it might have been because she did not have a knight. Because of her corrupt dictatorship, the people rebelled against her, starting the great Sorceress War.

During Sorceress War

During the war, Adel was after Ellone for her special powers. Laguna Loire, who led of the rebellion against Adel, used this as bait to win the war. He made Adel think that Ellone was in what is now called the Esthar Sorceress Memorial. Adel went inside to the center, and realized that Ellone was not inside, but a hologram of her instead. It was too late, Laguna, Kiros, and Ward activated the machine inside, sealing Adel. This ended the first Sorceress War.

After Sorceress War

To ensure that Adel would not escape, three Ragnoroks (space ships) took the seal up into space, where it was watched and guarded by the Lunar Base established there. When Squall and co. visited outer space, Sorceress Ultimecia possessed Rinoa, and forced her to free Adel from her seal. The Lunar Cry occurred at the same moment, and the force of the monsters traveling to Earth carried Adel with them. When Adel reached Earth, she landed in the Lunatic Pandora. Once inside, Adel took Rinoa and attached her to herself, forcing Squall and co. to fight her with care. Squall and his companions managed to defeat Adel while at the same time protecting Rinoa, in what was one of the most memorable fights of the heroes. Thus ended the life of Adel.
