What they REALLY did!




Yes, I know, Shannan was eliminated. But Shannan has probably never bungee jumped, never endured a crashing elevator, probably never even been to Edmonton, Canada! I don't wanna know about the 'facing your fears' story! I wanna know what really happened! You know, how you determined the results, because Bettina didn't really sit down with the Polar Bear, right? RIGHT? Of course not. You've just been waiting for the 'Real' episode version!

Email Problems

This round of game had a little plague of its own: It was haunted and effected by email problems. One problem was solved, while the other was not, and I still do not know the story as to what happened in that case. When I first emailed Shannan this round's tasks, I recieved a response of an error message. I was forced to continue her part of the challenge of the message board PMs. I posted a notice mentioning my solution, and PMed her the tasks, but she never replied to them. Something happened, and I don't know what. But it would be the result of her elimination.

In addition, Michael's email suddenly stopped working too. He then replied to my notice about Shannan having email problems, stating he needed me to PM the tasks as he couldn't access his email account. I did so, and he then continued them like that. Eventually, his email DID start working again, and the game continued for him.

Task 1: Bungee Catch

This stunt was determined from a favorite in Las Vegas: Black Jack! Yes, I dug out a deck of cards, and had them all set up right here by my computer, each hand belonging to a player! I'd email them asking if they wanted a hit or to stay. Their response, I did!

In this task, everyone started out with 10 points. For every hit they got without busting, they earned another 10 points. And so on the game went. However, once you busted, you amount of points went down to 0.

Bettina had a Queen and a 5, equalling a total of 15. She asked for a hit, and I drew a 7. This gave her a total of 22, which resulted in a bust. Therefore, in the challenge, she earned 0 points.

Shannan, got truly lucky! She got a Blackjack! However, since she couldn' hit anymore without busting, she only earned 10 points in the challenge.

Michael got a 7 and a 2, giving him a total of 9. After that, he got a hit, and earned a 6. This gave him a total of 15. Michael then hit again, going for 30 points, and I drew a Jack. This resulted in a total of 25, which was a bust. Therefore, in the challenge, he earned 0 points.

It was a rather simple stunt to run, but took careful strategy which I liked about it.

Task 2: Polar Bears

For this challenge, I realized that the stunt I had originally planned wouldn't have worked out, so I had to turn to an escape and simple challenge: The reply of the emails.

Whoever replied first earned 50 points. This person was Bettina. Whoever, replied second earned 25 points. This person was Michael. And whoever replied last earned 0 points. This person was Shannan.

I should also like to mention that at this point, Shannan's email suddenly stopped working. I have no clue what happened, but it did. I was forced to continue her part of the challenge of the message board PMs, but she never replied to them. Something happened, and I don't know what. But it would be the result of her elimination.

Task 3: Elevator Crash!

The final challenge in this round was a traditional scavenger hunt! The contestants had to email me URLS that had pictures of the following items:

1. The official Fear Factor logo
2. A picture OR a painting of a person walking across a 'High Wire' tight-rope.
3. A polar bear
4. A Can of Crickets
5. Joe Rogan, the host of fear factor
For every one you emailed, it equaled getting a question right in the elevator crash, or 10 points.

Both Bettina and Shannan never submitted answeres, Bettina because she had already earned 50 points, and Shannan because of her email problems.

However, Michael gave himself a booster, as he sent in a picture of the fear factor logo! This gave him 10 points.

Final Thoughts

And then there were 2! Michael and Bettina. Both have played a great game, I definetly congradulate them on making it into the finals. Either of them could win easily, but I can't say more as to who they decide to vote on!

Shannan it was sad to see go. She had been playing a great game, and done a good job. I do know she had been getting busy because of work and school, but she did try, and I truly respect that. I wish the best in life.
