Our agency is AAI. We have requested a child age 3-12 months. We started the paperchase in October 1999, and our dossier was logged in at the CCAA on February 22, 2000. My DH and I had discussed adopting children before we got married but ended up using the biological route to have Isaac. When we started to discuss a second child, we realized that we still wanted to consider adopting but knew nothing about the process. We began adoption classes with our wonderful local SW. The evening after meeting with some parents in the area who had adopted from China, we looked at each other and realized that we knew we wanted to adopt our daughter from China. My sister spent several years living there, her partner is from Hong Kong, and both my DH and I have already traveled to Beijing. At the moment we are working in Germany, but we will be heading home in June. Luckily, the excitement of living abroad and the craziness that comes with having a 2-year-old and a job keep me from dying from anticipation. But then again, it is only May ... we have a long time to wait!
