Bob is a huge racing fan. He and his father and brother have a street stock car that they race every weekend at a nearby race track. (Dad pays for the car, brother drives, and Bob is the crew chief.) After three summers of this, I still haven't been won over! We're both very close to our families and spend quite a bit of time with them. When I'm not at the office, I enjoy working in the yard, going for walks, playing with my kitties, doing water aerobics, and reading. Not too exciting, but a good and happy life.

Our agency is Holt International. We began our paperchase in September 1999, and our dossier was logged in on February 18, 2000. After three failed in-vitro attempts and a pretty serious hospitalization after things went WAY wrong during one of these attempts, Bob and I re-examined what we wanted. We both strongly agreed that our goal was to be parents — period. We wanted to care for, love, and raise a child — period. Well, after thinking about this, we realized that nowhere in our goals did we mention biology, pregnancy, or labor. We knew immediately that our journey to parenthood had taken a new turn and that finally, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Now we are five months into our wait for our daughter, Nikki. Our hearts are overflowing for this precious child whom we have never met. But she's our child, and we love her so!
