John, 34, and Molly, 33, live in Des Moines, Iowa. We have been married for 7 years „ which is also how long we've lived here amid the cornfields and insurance companies. John is a professional computer geek, and Molly is an amateur one and a professional copy editor. We live in a 1920s bungalow with a white picket fence with our cats, Jasper and Sophie; our dog, Sparks; and many, many books.

We hope to adopt a girl or boy age 2-8 months. We are fascinated by China's culture and thrilled about the wealth of information available about the culture (Molly is a born researcher). We sent our application to China Seas on August 21, 1999, and had our first home study meeting on October 12. After some of the usual ups and downs, including a notary who signed the wrong name „ no, really! „ our dossier was logged in at the CCAA on January 31, 2000.
