Heather and Mike live in Smyrna, Georgia. We have been married for almost 4 years. We renovated a 75-year old house about two years ago, and when we finished, we both felt led to share our home with a child. We know a couple who adopted an infant from China, so we went to a seminar at their agency, Hope for Children (now our agency.We had considered adopting from Romania or Russia, but after attending the seminar, we had no doubt that there was a little girl in China who would become a memeber of our family. We have three dogs (Chance, Tucker, and Dudley—40, 60 and 12 pounds, respectively) and a cat and are anxiously awaiting our referral so we can finally see Abigail Maelin Kemp's face!
We have requested a child 2 years or younger and as young as possible. We started the process on Heather's birthday (October 1) in 1999. Our DTC date is 2/29/200. And our date of referral we hope is VERY SOON! Our favorite online adoption resources are the a-parents-china list and Families with Children from China.
