Jean, 35, lives in the Detroit area. I am a single woman with a very large and supportive extended family nearby. My adoptive daughter will have four cousins that are going to be perfect playmates for her. I am an avid scrapbooker and needlepointer who can't wait to start projects for my own child. A social worker by education, I head the Program Development and Training Department of the agency I work for along with being a university instructor. I am fortunate to have a job that provides me with wonderful opportunities to interface with lots of different people.

My agency is FAC. I have requested a child 6-18 months. This adoption has been being planned for almost four years. I finally started the paperchase in July, 1999 with my home study being done in October of the same year. On February 8, 2000, my dossier went to China following several delays. I am absolutely excited beyond belief about having a new daughter! The trip to China can't come soon enough for my sister and I.
