This can be our nice little members only place to keep up on our news and what's going on. I'm trying my best to get a discussion group program working here, but it ain't easy. Discus just isn't cooperating with me, so we'll do it this way for now. Check here for page updates, or things like that. Also regular game news.
Such as it is, we have just finished our sim in a blaze of glory (or not). After getting reamed out by the Major, it seems we're headed to the bar, unless the Major is nice enough to invite us back to his Executive Suite for a snifter or two of his private stock...but I doubt it! Time for some major character development. At least for those of us that bother to show up.
On another note, I'm planning on making an OOC and a IC section to the members area. That way, we the players can have a say, and our characters can as well (kind of like a unit bulletin board) We can add little things to make it seem more "real" like FASA used to with all the Comstar Copyrights and dates, etc... I loved the way Battletechnology mags were layed out, like a year 30** newspaper. Anyway, if your character losses his favorite lucky charm, or needs info, or just whatever, Email it to me and I'll set it up like a Unit bulletin board. Likewise on the players. If you guys have something to say, I'll post it too (for some reason, not all of us have access to Steelcommand, but all of us have access to this place) Until I get an actual bulletin board set up, we'll do it the good old fasion way of emailing it to me, and I'll put it up (MAKE SURE TO TELL ME YOU WANT IT POSTED!). I could just use a guestbook format, and instead of guests, have you guys leave posts. Let me know what you think, or if you have better ideas...or maybe if I should just scrap this whole idea! :) (hope not...the password area alone took me a long time to figure out...) We can also us the IC area to post actual game "News" (like a certian planet under attack, specific units in certian areas of the march, etc...) If Bane feels inclined to do so, that is. He's under a major load already, so it might be awhile until that part is up. (By the way, Bane: If you want to give me a gist of the story, ie; what units/planet, stuff like that, I can BS my way through the rest of it) My hopes are to have something like the little News station in MW2: Mercenaries. Even small news will be posted (like a new resturant opening, or a robbery taking place, a certian planet or city short on water...things that don't seem to relate to us, but maybe they will in the future...who knows, the new resturant might be a place we meet a new employer...)
