[Buzz, Harley, and Marina]
Harley: How's it going?
Buzz: No complaints. How about you? Any complaints? No, on second thought, don't answer that.
Harley laughed.
Buzz: I...I...I...thought you would have your, um...friend with you.
Harley: (makes a disgusted face) You mean...you mean my boyfriend?
Buzz: Oh, I...
Harley: Ooh!
Buzz: If you must use that word, please do so with the understanding that it makes me nuts.
Harley: Well, don't panic because he went down to the station, so he's not going to be here. And if I don't use his name, will you give me a cup of coffee please?
Buzz: Absolutely...
Marina: (raises both arms in the air) Me, I will.
Harley: Thank you.
Buzz: Take it over to that booth.
Buzz pointed to Cassie who was sitting alone in the booth crying.
Harley: You know what, just...no, hold the coffee.
[Buzz and Harley]
Buzz: (about Cassie) She doesn't seem to be doing very well.
Harley: (crying) Well, her husbands in the hospital, she has three kids to worry about. How should she seem?
Buzz: What's that supposed to mean?
Harley: Well everybody thinks she should be so strong. Her life is never going to be the same.
Buzz: I'm not saying it is.
Harley: And men leave and women are just expected to suck it up. It happens all the time.
Buzz: (waving his arms; laughs) Wait a minute. You and I are having two different conversations here. Richard didn't choose to have an accident, you know.
Harley: (shakes her head) I know he didn't. I'm sorry.
Buzz: Are you afraid what's-his-name is going to leave you?
Harley: No. No. That's not it. I'm worried about Cassie. I mean, this is...this is terrible. People die, you know? It happens to all of us. Look at you; Mommy and then Jenna.
Buzz: Yeah.
Harley: I mean, how do you do it, daddy? How do you...how do you get past that?
Buzz: Well, by being grateful for the ones you still have to love.
Buzz kissed her hand.
Harley: I am. I don't say it, but I am.
Harley hugged Buzz and he kissed her on the cheek.

[Buzz and Marina]
Marina: (pops put from under the table) Oh, hey, grampa, um, my shifts almost over, so can I cut out early?
Buzz: If it's to do school work, yeah.
Marina: Hello. School was over like a month ago.
Buzz: What about...(checks under the table) what about summer school?
Marina: Gross. Don't look surprised, but I did pass all my classes.
Buzz: That's right. I knew that. I'm proud of you. (stammers) If you think that summer means you work less and play more, you know.
Marina: Yeah, actually, that's, um, kinda what I wanted to talk to you about. You see, I know I'm supposed to work here for like the rest of my life to pay off my crimes against humanity.
Buzz: But...
Marina: But, if I'm going to get into a really good college, I need to have a resùme showing lots of different kinds of jobs.
Buzz: Ah, you're leaving me.
Marina: For community service.
Buzz: You mean, like soup kitchens, that...that would be good if you...
Marina: Uh, yeah, actually, I was thinking more along the lines of the Beacon Beach Club.
Buzz: How is that community service?
Marina: It's service to the community who wants to go to the lake. (Buzz points his finger at her) What, come on.
Buzz: You, girl, you are...If your dad says it's okay, it's okay with me.
Marina: (hugs Buzz) Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! (jumps up and down) Whew!
Harley: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, where are you off to in such a hurry?
Marina: I got a new job and I am going to get to wear a bikini all day.
Harley: Better you than me.
